I'm going crazy for these extra few minutes precisely because the game is such a slow burn. I put over 50 hours into the console version before stepping away to wait for PC. I'm dying to catch up to where I left off so I can continue the story!

Pardners, y'all need to get yourself at least one 1+ TB SSD. They are not expensive anymore. Mine's decrypting at about 150-200 MB/s on a several years old Samsung 850 EVO.

I downloaded it at 115 MB/s and it's decrypting twice as fast as that for me to a SDD (sata), it's still worth preloading in this case.

It's for people with slow internet.

If the preload is encrypted( the way steam does it) it's pointless if you've got good internet since you'll download the thing faster anyway.

MS does them the best.

You download the thing and exactly when the game launches you can play with no additional waiting.

It's a 110GB game. Even if you have 1Gbps fiber, it would still take you about 15 minutes to download the entire thing, whereas it's taking about 10 - 12 minutes to decrypt for me.
