Definitely going a lot faster than Steam, where most of the time I can download a game fresh faster than it can decrypt.

My decryption will probably be done in about 20 more minutes or less so at least it was still faster than my download took in my case.

Pardners, y'all need to get yourself at least one 1+ TB SSD. They are not expensive anymore. Mine's decrypting at about 150-200 MB/s on a several years old Samsung 850 EVO.

what is the point of preloading lmao

It's for people with slow internet.

If the preload is encrypted( the way steam does it) it's pointless if you've got good internet since you'll download the thing faster anyway.

MS does them the best.

You download the thing and exactly when the game launches you can play with no additional waiting.

Pre-loading to a HDD was fucking pointless. Re-downloading now faster than it was decrypting.
