And this is why I had no hope for Red Dead Online after GTA Online. It's the same thing with Cowboys. They just want your money. Gonna miss SP DLC like GTA IV's, but I get why they do it.
Okay, well that's good to know. Still not a fan of it being sold but if it can be acquired in-game with a moderate amount of playing, then that's fine for me.Pretty much useless unless you want to buy stuff before you unlock it by level. AFAIK the only things locked behind the gold bars are some random clothing pieces for your character and changing the color of the metals on your gun. Everything else is ingame money when you unlock it/gold to get it early.
Gold comes in at a steady rate when playing PVP as well, so if you like that, it's not even much of a bother at all.
better buy real gold
Don't go giving Take Two any ideasY'all think these are high prices?
People spend hundreds on single banners in gacha games gambling for the chance to maybe get what they want. Maybe.
Holy shit. Only 350 gold bars for $100? Some clothing items fucking cost 20 or more gold bars. Putting an entire outfit together could use up $50 of those gold bars.
When will people and reviewers start holding R* accountable for these practices? R* is a trash tier company and should be embarrassed.
$99.99 transaction in a non F2P game. lol, the state of the games industry in 2018.
I know they're far from the only game to have a "micro"transaction pack at this amount but it's still funny as fuck.
wow seriously? lol
Really? Got proof?
I just remember some of the screen grabs back when it launched. Gold plating on a certain pistol was 30 gold. So it works out to be more or less $12. Don't have the time to find the image or grab my own since I'm at work.
^R* is in the unique position of being one of a few AAA devs that literally design their in game economies around microtransactions. Most games use it as a way to take shortcuts. R* games you almost have to spend real money if you don't have time to grind for hours upon hours every week.
I'm not familiar with how much gold will get you in the game. Is this a good/bad deal?
What EA or Ubisoft game has microtransactions invading their single-player portion?Honestly, at least we get a massive singleplayer open world game that can take a longggg time to complete and that is free of MTX.
Most AAA games do both and invade the singleplayer portion with this shit too (just look at anything EA and Ubisoft make).
Also, why did anyone think this wasn't going to be priced like GTA Online?
Wait what? That's a huge no. I can't even buy the clothes I want with the normal in game money because my rank isn't high enough. They haven't even implemented a Free Aim lobby. RDO is a huge disappointment.

The mods should be interesting on pcI sold the game back to Amazon for about $35 under the premise that I might dive back in for the eventual PC port. I know the online component has nothing to do with the single player experience, but this kind of naked greed is off-putting regardless.
