So i've found this youtube video:



Basicly the game tells you that you could buy a level locked item directly with gold BUT when you have the right amount of gold (after buying it) the option goes away.
The game drives you into buying gold but then wont let you buy anything level locked with it.

Disgusting practice.


If such topic already exists, delete it.

Probably a bug. This is a beta, do you really think Rockstar won't fix this immediately since you are supposed to spend real money on it?

Seems like a bug given that "Forces you to spend on our premium currency and then it doesn't work" isn't exactly a well thought out strategy to retain players.

It's a bug, they gain nothing from not letting you buy the item and in fact lose you probably as a future customer of gold.

Think for a second lol. The item is not real lol

The commentator jumping straight to "scam" and "laziness" is a bit obnoxious when it is clearly a glitch. It is a huge game, and things slip by, and when it involved real money it is much worse, but find a better way of reporting concerns than clickbait words.

But it is not tolerable to not be able to use the gold, you bought with real money. This is a scam and Rockstar can not get away with for example saying it is a Beta and at the same time demand money for ingame things that advertised for gold and after transaction this option disappearing.

That should make the rounds and big time news.

I don't really feel like "It's just a beta" really flies for a full-priced game selling currency. It's just a beta, it's a work in progress, but they got that buyable currency up quick. They're making some serious cash off of a prototype sold at retail that's supposedly not market-ready.

I'm not say it's ok, I'm just saying it's a beta and shit happens. Probably those gold bars will just get refunded and the bug fixed.
I told in another thread Rockstar should have wait until the full release of RDO before unleashing the microtransactions, so it's not that I'm defending them.

While I do think it's a bug, it's utterly bullshit that something like this happens in a game that's asking for overpriced macro-transactions. I also don't view it as a beta when their macro-transactions are live. If you go live asking for money your game is, for all intents and purposes, launched as a finished product. If they wanted a beta, they should have left out the premium currency begging systems until they were ready for release.

It shows a lock symbol and the level requirement. It allows you to purchase gold in advance of being at the right level.

The message "You do not have X gold bars to purchase this item" seems like it's unintentionally misleading. The game doesn't hide the level requirement.

Edit:
Wait, nevermind. I didn't see that it was specifically listed as a "Buy now" option. That's much more of a problem.

Yes, they are clearly trying to scam people so they never purchase anything ever again rather than keep them playing and paying for years.

Scam is defined as intentional. Bug is unintentional.

This is a bug, which needs to be fixed
