You did not give birth to that pupper. You are not that pupper's mom/dad.
I once detailed to some friends that I would rescue my cat, whom I had known for like 15 years at this point, from a burning house before I would rescue them, who I had known for a few years. They didn't take it well. That's too bad - burn baby. He was my Son if I say he was. If you don't like it - step off I don't care.
I love them so much.
Only thing that really annoys me is people acting like having a cat or dog is of an equal burden as having a human child. Idc how much you love your pet, it is NOT the same thing as having to clothe, feed, nurture, and educate a human being for 18+ years.
And before someone says it: yes, there are absolutely people who try to claim it's the same thing. Mostly white people on my FB feed.
Why can't we just mind our own business when it comes to this stuff? As long as they're not obnoxious about taking care of their pets, let them do their own damn thing.

I actually should be putting "cat dad" in my bio because they're cute as fuck. Thanks for the idea, OP.

So a species can't be parents to another species?...We're talking about puppers right now. Humans can't be parents of a FUCKING PUPPER.
A PUPPER!
Some general rules for threadmaking would be great. This forum is hella judgmental and likely gives people complexes.
Nothing worse than childless morons going: "Oh, I know what it's like to have a kid, I have a fur baby"
Pets are harder to care for than children, you can't just stick a tablet with youtube in their hands when they start shitting everywhereNothing worse than childless morons going: "Oh, I know what it's like to have a kid, I have a fur baby"
I don't know anyone who would say having a dog is the same as having a kid. Many of these "childless morons" get these pets and treat them so well because they can't have kids.
This is unnecessarily hostile and mean.
I don't know, there's worse. A guy could be a joyless void, trying to shit on people for having different, absolutely benign views, for exampleNothing worse than childless morons going: "Oh, I know what it's like to have a kid, I have a fur baby"
ah, the one-upmanship on display here is great.Nothing worse than childless morons going: "Oh, I know what it's like to have a kid, I have a fur baby"

Let's not do this whole "this one's harder than the other" thing. Unless you have both, it's a pointless jab at parents.Pets are harder to care for than children, you can't just stick a tablet with youtube in their hands when they start shitting everywhere
How does it hurt you?Yes, implying having a dog is the same as having a child is just a "different, benign view", not complete idiocy.
Putting "dog/cat mom" in a bio does not mean the person thinks it's the same thing as having an actual human child.
That being said, many people look and care for their pets no differently.
So how is it not a different, benign view?
Some general rules for threadmaking would be great.
1. Every asinine moment/thought in your life doesn't deserve a thread.
2. You're not special for noticing/following/not following "trends".
3. Yes you are weird for doing that thing in that one real-life social scenario.
Then again, half of EtcetEra would probably stop functioning.
