For sure. 28 November 2018 was what, like a decade or something? They really need to step it up.
Once Valve announces HL3 Todd will personally fly to Valve HQ to kiss Gabe's ring and beg forgiveness. Will that prevent Bethesda from using their own launcher? Because that's the issue here.

Steam itself has been growing like a monster as it has added these community suggested features. Look at how the concurrent userbasr has grown over the last 5 years.
Saying users barely care about these things is patently false. You mentioned bnet but Blizzard have been adding a ton of features over the years. They have the metrics, they do it for good reason.
Your post was dismissive imo.
Haha! No, that's not why it happened. Back then they didn't have the resources nor the aspirations. Since then they've become a big publisher. Back then they needed an anti-piracy solution (their words, not mine) and Steam provided that. Now they can provide that themselves and turn a bigger profit thanks to cutting Steam's 30% out of the equation. It's never been about going where the customers are, it's been about profits. The customers will go where the games are, unless of course they feel weirdly loyal to a store like Steam and refuse to load their games from anywhere else. That's a tiny minority with some odd issues though...That's the part you really have to understand to realize the difference between Bethesda releasing in Steam and Bethesda releasing on its own launcher. The first choice was necessitated because of cuatomer preference. Customers decided that they prefer Steam and Bethesda had to release its games there because it's what its customers wanted. Now Bethesda is launching its games on its own service because that's what Bethesda wants, not its customers. Is it really that hard to understand this?
There is nothing wrong with your mindset. I'm just not willing to put up with a variety of bad launchers to play games.I've never been attached like that to any specific launcher or platform - I'll download whatever the fuck I need to that allows me to play the game and anything beyond that is pretty odd to me. I can see that this mindset is a bit of an outlier. I had never really thought of Steam as anything else other than the platform that has the games I want to play.
That's a bold move, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off.Unsatisfied with low sales of other Bethesda single player games, Bethesda aims even lower. Interesting strategy.
well bethesda's handling of the 76 stuff hasn't been good. It's incredible how this game is jumped from "by best E3 game" to "damn the gameplay looks as bas as Rage1 but maybe..." to "yeah, no way I'm gonna buy full price on Epic store, bye!".
You can have 30% more game content or the game could be cheaper because no more 30% of the game money going to Valve.
Same. Not that I think Doom will be a bad game though. But this made my Doom into a maybe for me. And I freaking loved the first reboot.I'll get Eternal day 1 if it's on another major store with guaranteed refunds. If it's exclusive to their store and I'm required to trust Bethesda, I'm waiting for a dirt cheap sale.
Prove it. Nowthis isn't happening under ANY circumstance and in no way is this good for the consumer.
What thethis is pretty normal now isn't it? most big games skip steam in this day and age
Oh no! Why did you say this? *sobs*
It'll be Square Enix next.
Just use Playnite, does the same thing. All of this is making Discord, as a launcher for launchers, all the more stronger and attractive to use.
Are you being sarcastic or delibrately thick?

then it turned out, Farcry was making a direct competitor to Rage.
then it turned out, Obsidian was potentially redefining what a RPG is again.
also the lack of story information, on rage, instead they just went its a madmax themepark style on the adverts. =/
Are you without any argument or what?
