Restart Steam. Bethesda was a bit late with updating the launch options, and restarting Steam will force a refresh.
Awesome! Wonder if my Mission Pack #1 saves will make the cut haha.Patch is out on Steam, the store page has been updated accordingly, and the base price has been bumped up to USD$9.99 (as expected).
i hope the old branch is still easily available for people if it makes it harder to mess around with in some ways
Try the "Verify integrity of game files" option and it should trigger the update, that's what I had to do.Hm, I downloaded the game from scratch. Steam said it was over 1 GB but the game barely seems updated. I don't see any options for high resolutions or widescreen, I don't hear any music when I start the game.
awesome! You can still launch the GLQuake versions of the original game and expansions, yeah.
That's concerning. Q1 is one of the very very best with gibs (and gibbing sounds). The Xbox port feels utterly fantastic, but there's hardly any gibs. Only got two so far with the double barrel.
Now that the Steam version has updated, gibbing is definitely still there. It's in the gameplay demo at the start. Grenade launcher.I played it on Xbox just now and it seemed like enemies weren't gibbing. Maybe it only happens with stronger weapons now?
Yeah, but in-game it's not gibbing for me. Just tried it even with the grenade launcher in a later map. I need my enemies to explode. Now that the Steam version has updated, gibbing is definitely still there. It's in the gameplay demo at the start. Grenade launcher.
What does this have going for it that playing via Quakespasm or any other sourceport (don't @ me mods, the source code was released for free to the public years ago) doesn't?
yes, it's even on the store page (and mentioned here a couple of times).
yup
60 of course. You've not heard of Nightdive before? :D
This is EXACTLY what I'm going to do!Sheeeeeit if it's a free update on PC, I'll do my part and double dip on Switch. So dope!
Gibbing is a very old gaming term that means blowing an enemy into chunks.Never played Quake but am going to very soon now, but what the heck are all of these "gibs" you all are talking about? Lol

How big is this download on Steam? Just so I know it's been updated.

Quake 4's dumb fun. Not as good as 1 but better than 2 campaign-wise
with nightdive you can, not even joking.
