Why did my man get left out by Sony? He did a great job with the Xbox X.
He did get one.
He's complaining about 8K, because he doesn't think 4K is better than 1440p.

He is doing a bad PR job then because he is complaining about Playstation all the time.
Yep, Mark Cerny said himself that devs could use the PS5 just like an overpowered PS4 because it was that similar.PS5 SDK is an evolution of the PS4 one... It's not different at all.
In fact, wasn't MS the one that changed their SDK from XDK to GDK??
He didn't. Other editors at GamesBeat did.He did get one.

Really? Isn't this the guy that had that PS I love you (cringe) podcast? Seems like he is a pretty big supporter of Sony, no?He is doing a bad PR job then because he is complaining about Playstation all the time.
Seems to me like he got one.
sadness. i should have checked the upload date.i do too but I think it's a mockup. looks like it was uploaded last week, so it couldn't be from someone who just got a review unit
think the audio was different in the official tease from the summer
He complained about Playstation all the time, but not in a trolling manner.Really? Isn't this the guy that had that PS I love you (cringe) podcast? Seems like he is a pretty big supporter of Sony, no?

Yes... I wasn't into the presentation style. Reminds me of retail workers being falsely enthusiastic about products they're trying to sell to earn that commission bonus.
I see no conspiracy talk, take that shit elsewhere, this is observational. And that section was entirely pointless in context to the vid. It's OK for him to have his opinion without you thinking of some conspiracy theory and taking it personally
He responded to me on twitter, but I honestly don't understand what he means by "you don't need to optimize it"
Like they both need game updates to do 120fps, so whats the actual advantage the series x has here?

Hard to see but Greg shows the bottom of the box at 5:12 and it looks the middle logo is Dolby, so...possible Vision confirmation (if not atmos)?

Ah there's a clearer shot a couple seconds after and it looks like it just says Dolby "Audio", so who knows. Probably not likely Atmos support if they're pushing tempest. It's definitely a Dolby symbol and name, so hopefully it does have Vision at the very least. I'm not counting on Atmos, but whatever.

Not exactly true.He doesn't even know what he's talking about. If a game wasn't designed for a higher framerate it could potentially be updated to eliminate the fps cap but other aspects like physics or animation would still need some tweaking in many cases. So it's the same on either platform.
We have only seen a tech demo about this. But what he is talking about is completely unrelated. Doubling the framerate isn't a magic switch, it still needs human input from either the platform holder or the devs. Not exactly true.
Microsoft's BC team can (on a case by case basis) double the framerate of a game, without the developer updating the game at all. I don't expect *many* titles will see this, but doubling from 60 to 120 was specifically blogged about by MS.
This is completely unrelated to developers going into their existing games and patching them to support 120 fps.
Not exactly right - Sony let it up to devs. You wrote like they made a mistake and now they need devs to do it.
Well, but there must be some kind of 'patch' somewhere, the game, or the 'emulator' MS BC team is using with those games. There's the advantage that the developer in those specific cases, does not need to do the work, though. Not exactly true.

This is completely unrelated to developers going into their existing games and patching them to support 120 fps. Sony are fully reliant on devs doing this, MS aren't so it's an advantage, even if it's one I don't expect will more than a handful of games seeing their framerate doubled in this manner.

Digital foundry.boxes. boxes everywhere
the story is who DOESN'T have one. seems like sony is giving them away like candy
oh good catch. Didn't see the tweet earlier. Would be totally fine with it too :D man..if not for covid we would have had a full on group stream with this thing in the studio

You're wondering why Jeff Grubb didn't get a PS5? Seriously?
Did Phil Spencer get one?
