I was talking with a friend who has just bought their first 4K TV, despite owning an Xbox One X and an Xbox Series X since launch.

I wondered what the uptake of the latest TV tech is amongst ERA, and if anyone is rocking an older TV with their brand new fancy consoles.

Bought a 4K TV for when I bought my Series X. Then Bought a 4k 60 32 inch monitor for when I want to game on my desk. I'd say the 4K TV is better overall. Haven't missed out on 120fps gaming yet. I'll get a 120fps capable monitor and TV next year or the year after that

4k. I turn HDR off. I don't want to mess with options at all and it seems a lot of games handle HDR differently. The games still look amazing to me.

I'm still using my Samsung KS8000. I was looking forward to upgrading, but all of the HDMI 2.1 stuff that recently went down has kind of killed my interest for now.

My Series X is hooked up to a 27" 1440p monitor that can do 120fps (and higher I think) in the office.

My PS5 is hooked up to a 65" 4K in the living room that can also do 120fps.

Lol, 40%+ with HDMI2.1 sets - we are a bubble, it doesn't get clearer than that.

There's no great 4k 120hz HDR monitors that are affordable, so I'll stick with my 1080p 144hz monitor for now. I don't like gaming on a TV. Never have.

Still rockin a Plasma.

Gonna run this Panasonic ZT60 into the ground. Hoping I can wait out OLED and jump straight into MicroLED.

I used a 1080p Panasonic plasma until last year. Was just holding out until I could get a proper 4k hdtv with 120hz and VRR. I still have the plasma. It's in my guest bedroom.

LG B8 @ 4K 60Hz. Still an absolute beast of a television. HDR content shines better than cinema. Have it for about 3 years now and still have no indication of any problem.

A great television can (and have for me) improve my content consumption experience in more ways than I ever expected. Love it.

I tried to get the most future proof TV available so 4K, 120fps, VRR.

48" and 65" LG CX.

I got an Eve Spectrum (4k HDR 144 hz) about a month ago and it's been phenomenal. Seriously the best monitor available right now.

My 2015 Samsung 4K TV, only 4K60Hz and the HDR kinda sucks but it doesn't bother me, the custom image settings I use are incredible for my liking

LG55C1.
while it has good image, after calibrated with the suggestion here on Era, I still think the image is not so so awesome as everyone says…
It looks a little dead and maybe not so bright as I was hoping.
Maybe a matter of get used, I don't know.

Played on a 55" Bravia x700d since 2016 but switched to a Bravia 75" x900e that i got for free from my uncle around June this year and will continue using it for the foreseeable future since I have no interest in paying for a new tv any time soon.

Era is highly unrepresentative of the general public. Most of my friends who own PS5s are still using 1080p or have only just bought a 4K TV.

I️ have the same set which was an upgrade from a Panasonic plasma and have been a bit underwhelmed

One day I'll upgrade to an OLED. TVs are honestly one of the pieces of tech I span out upgrades for most. I was using a 32" Sony Bravia from 2010 to 2019. But maybe in two years I can get to a point where I can upgrade.

G1 OLED, but it's hooked to a HDMI 2.0 AVR, so no VRR support.

Why not hook your consoles to the TV and use eARC?

That's what I do with my PS5/XSX/Switch. They connect to my C1 which uses eARC to my Denon x1600H. Get the best of both worlds. Uncompressed LPCM audio and full HDMI 2.1 spec visuals.
