Literally 100.0000000000% of parents that punish their kids by breaking, damaging, or destroying things that their kids cherish end up having their kids resent them. It's like Parenting 101.
What the fuck is the kid NOT doing that you have to burn their stuff? I say that as a father of 8.

You're risking having a normal relationship with him and also training him to solve problems by throwing tantrums (the mom is throwing a tantrum, breaking other people's stuff when you don't get what you want is literally just that).
