It's not surprising. The new generational titles always outsell the remakes, and I didn't expect things to change this time
Mat tweeted something about games that get "boycotted" seeing huge sales too, which i think was a reference to pokemon, since irc starwars was quite well reccieved.
Nah, Let's Go is comfy. Glad to see that a lot of it's better features made the transition over to Sword and Shield.

On the other hand, kinda disappointing to see that GF can deliver a product with very obvious flaws and sell like hotcakes. There is little to no incentive to address those problems if people keep buying the games.
And yet, I know I'm part of the problem, since I pre-ordered day one and still bought the game after knowing about all its issues. What can I say. I love Pokémon and I want my favorite franchise to do better. SwSh may be OK games, but this is definitely not the right direction, if you ask me.

Pokémon in the overworld was revolutionary. Probably the biggest innovation the series has had since the Special/Physical split.
He doesn't want to be associated with Era anymore. He had some bad experiences with some people here and requested a perma-ban.
This was expected. I want to see how much it did compared to previous gens. We have to take into account that this is a full priced game whilst the other gens were not.

I played the whole weekend, just beat the Champion. Great game that deserves it sales in my opinion.

Guarantee whatever boycott of Pokemon has 0% to do with it selling well and Pokemon being Pokemon had 100% to do with it

When just about everyone knows the games are always going to sell massively no matter what; that's a huge part of the problem, after all.

I'm not dismissing criticism, just poking fun at people boycotting the game on Reddit. I have my own gripes with SwSh like the lack of VA and shitty route design.
Yeah I think Shield would have easily tripled Sword sales
But seriously, I figured Sword would sell the best which is why I picked up Shield. It's easier to trade for what I want when I have a supply of Ponyta lol
Must have had a lot of new people jumping in since I know that all the people incessantly complaining about the game in every thread didn't buy it.
I thought about that while playing. It seems rather off sometimes, but with this dialogue I'm not so sure if VA would be a good addition.
I love the game, but it's a typical Pokémon story.
I doubt anyone committing to a boycott thought this still wouldn't be one of the highest selling games this year
