Pokemon is forced to an HD console and now - the developers are out of excuses

Even if 100k people in total are outraged, another new > 100k people attracted from the gameplay replace them easily. Then the positive impressions come, then the reviews come, then the sales succes comes and the outraged ones start to feel left out. At least 50% ends up jumping in and all the outrage ended up being for nothing.

I don't really play Pokemon and I'm going to get flak for saying this but I prefer the first screenshot. XBC2's is a mess with all the elements blending into each other. The first image has better visual language, even though it is far simpler.

Cause Devs who have worked on Low Def for years surely will be able to tackle HD on their first try in a few years of development.
Going from one to another takes time and the artists have to adapt *a lot* to change their artstyle to what you are expecting.
And, maybe you want high def and super real graphics but, the main target, kids, don't care about that.
People need to stop thinking every game is made only for them and then complain when they don't like the direction some devs took.

Even if it's not for kids, I don't think realistic graphics fits the pokemon franchise, it's just not the kind of game that you would expect realistic graphics from.

There may be some merit to this excuse, but it allows massive leeway on GF's part. EAD made no 3D games up until they started making 3D games. Every major developer makes the transition from one generation to another almost flawlessly. GF has no excuse.

GameFreak is poorly managed and needs to expand or at least be willing to contract grunt work like preparing models (which are the sames from Gen 6). They're a decade behind other developers and those at the top of the company who are holding them back need to swallow their pride.

I agree to an extent. I would say with the amount of money they make off Pokémon games they should put that back into it. The fact they aren't using unreal 4 is a crime in my opinion. The game would look so much better.
