Most of the side games died off unfortunately. Hopefully this starts a return even if they gotta remake first

Did you play the Etrian Mystery Dungeon game? Because then you'd know your answer.

There are a LOT more milestones than the original versions! Holy Jesus! It looks like the story is more than twice as long as the original! :O
Not limited to Gens 1-3, the trailer had Lucario in it. They probably have sprinkled newer Pokemon into the game. Wouldn't expect a ton, but their will be some new faces.
Wait, if this game is actually significantly longer than the original, ignore my complaints about it being a $60 game.

I honestly don't know if I've ever actually played a PMD game. I think I did but I have no recollection of it to be honest. Fingers crossed that it ends up being very good -- I'll probably snag it at some point pending impressions, but I'm not particularly excited about this. Happy for fans of the original game though!
I haven't played Super Mystery Dungeon, but do you know if that game also uses the same models? I feel like the art style isn't as charming as SMD.
The game gave me the option of selecting my Partners Gender, but gender doesn't seem to be displayed on the Status screen.
They also have one ability instead of both possible abilities.

i think trapinch, houndoom, paras and gloom might just be escort clients or something. they're not listed with the rest of the team in the upper right.
it could also just be an outline for enemies or something
Frankly, I never expected a remake of this one game to be announced. Blue Rescue Team was the first Pokémon game I ever played since Silver. When I left playing It, I was trying to recruit the most difficult Pkmn like Lati@s and the Gen3 bosses. Never touched the "roguelike" (Lv1, no money/items) endgame dungeons, though.
Lucario is a special case, I think, being that he was a cameo in the original. Realistically, I think we'll see Lucario and mayyybe Bonsly and Munchlax.

Hold me, I'm loving this demo so much and I can't wait to get a gift from heaven in March. I thought the PC Engine Mini would be the one big thing from March that I'd love forever and ever... Along with the hype for FFVIIR. Now I guess this just shoves them out of the way as I'm prioritizing this.
I implore everyone to try the demo. These games are really good plot wise and the improvements from SMD should make this a very fun and addictive dungeon crawler to play too. Definitely better than the GBA originals. $60 may seem steep but it's really not for a game as depth-filled and engaging as this so I please advise you give this ago. The series needs the support.

I was thinking the same. Although being able to escort that many pokemons just scream "Chances of failing the mission: VERY HIGH" to me.
That's right. Also, Lucario was referenced by Alakazam as being the strongest rescuer in the world, or something like that.

Yeah, it was part of the frankly really cool "Road to Diamond and Pearl" era of spin-offs. I'd honestly be totally behind just having Lucario, Munchlax, Bonsly, and Mime Jr. as the only later Pokemon (bar Megas as seen) as a really cool callback. I mean they kind of need to stick with most of the same Pokemon as it's a remake for consistency anyway right?
it's 59.99 but MD is so worth it for that price! I'm hoping for Explorers DX next.

The questions and answers are worded a bit different than in the original, at least in German.
Am I alone with that? At least during the first tutorial dungeon i had input lag. Even in the menues where i named myself and my partner.

I honestly didn't expect anyone to be upset that the quiz isn't required (also it wasn't "challenging" you just had to go on GameFAQs). I sure hope we don't get people complaining when New Horizons just lets you create a character like Animal Crossing should have done from the very start

I noticed the input lag as well. It's annoying for sure, because I've moved two spaces by mistake because of it.
Why ?
It's a good new year surprise and people don't have to wait for more than 6 months.
Plus it makes space in general direct if pokemon is on its own a bit.
We all win.
