dark/bug and psychic/bug are outrageously overdue

the fire/grass spicy pepper pokemon will of course be native to the region with the least spicy cuisine.

And that does not mean a consensus, it could easily be a vocal minority which it usually is here.

Also if you needed any citation that resetera is a bubble and not even remotely a consensus for the Internet look no further than how many people were convinced that Detective Pikachu would sell a billion dollars at the box office

Me too. It's anectodal but I've seen that sentiment elsewhere. The game is graphically rough for a Switch exclusive. It does resemble the was SM looked only uprezzed. Imo

It does not look like an upressed 3DS game but it sure as hell looks disappointing with what the console is capable of.

Art style is fine. Graphical fidelity is not.

I'm interested in seeing more of the overworld and getting more of the same places to see how they have changed. We already saw some changes to the house for example when they announced the t shirt winner.

To me, that's what I thought about when I saw the reveal, yes. It's not a 1:1 comparison, I never said that, you just have to factor the fact that it's the first HD Pokemon and that plays a big role in the disappointment.

Seeing the reveal for the first time and actually looking at it and comparing it to what you say looks like it are different things. They have a similar art style and that's it, nobody argues Odyssey looks like and upressed Sunshine because they have the same art style.

Simple look at the actual reaction around the game on social medias and the sheer excitement around it versus the amount of people spending time to complain about it. It's very different from like, Metroid Prime FF where everyone kept trashing the visuals on social media.

The subject is brought often because ResetEra is the epitome of this hive mind. Once again, people need to keep in mind that the general opinion of this forum is not representative of the real world. Not that it'd invalidate your opinion, but it puts it into perspective.

It doesn't even look like one though, which is the point that the picture proves. Even up-res you can see it's a considerable step down from what we've seen in Sword & Shield.

And absolutely no comparison with 3DS games.

So you don't know. You can be excited by the game in itself and still disappointed by its poor graphics.

To add on to this a bit. The core gameplay of pokemon is solid, they're reusing models and animations (which is fine), and they have the extra power of a home console. I'll say that sun and moon were some of the best looking 3ds games(even though they did struggle with fps and that bothered the hell out of me). But atm SwSh aren't even close to being the best on the console, and with the frame work of the series already set so it feels like visuals should be something they go all in on (ex: persona 5).

I agree that Sw/Sh could look a lot better being on Switch, but it's definitely a nice improvement from what we've had so far. Though honestly, I don't see how you can have an issue with someone saying they aren't impressed by it. It's not hard to see why they'd feel that way.

There is no reason to be this rude when your subjective opinion is argued with an objective arguement. And that screenshot of SM is from an upressed emulator fyi, so its an evened out one to boot. Its not a huge HD graphics pornfest, but its a sufficient enough upgrade that is the bar minimum, as Gamefreak always uses underbaked footage for the initial reveal.

Guaranteed, and rightly so, people would still complain, have you seen the flat 2d images GameFreak uses as backgrounds?
