It would have been cool if Ash went that all out against Leon with Mega Lucario, Z Move Pikachu and a GMax Gengar, but this episode seems to say it isn't allowed.

Wouldn't be the first time they bend the rules for the final. See the 2 Z-Moves in the Ash VS Kukui match.

So I watched Secrets of the Jungle tonight and really enjoyed it. It's easily the best of these new types of movies. My one gripe is they set up Coco to leave with Ash but at the end Coco goes off on his own like?????? I get they want Ash and Pikachu without the baggage of companions and other Pokemon but come on guys it would be cool if the new movies really started building their own canon beyond "it's the same Ash because of the hat". Also the bad guy was straight-up murdering people and trying to kill more which was wild to see in a movie that won't speak the "Dead" word.

I agree with all of it. It's my favorite of the three so far. I legit let myself believe for a second they were about to have Coco become a movie canon companion and got excited. Feels very weird for him to leave the forest without at least having Ash to accompany him.
I guess I'd best catch up on the Japanese episodes. I'm so bummed not having more Journeys. Do we know for sure yet if Netflix gets the English episodes in January, at least? Is that too much to ask?
I'm more interested in the "Farewell! The Wandering Rocket Gang!"

I am so hyped for the rumored new typing of the final evos. January can't come soon enough.
Dawn's continued presence is surprising in a very nice way. I would have preferred Serena, but I guess there's still time for an appearance.

Episode 1185 is about Sophocles calling Ash for help at the Mossdeep Space Center. Wouldn't surprise me if all the Alola companions got their own solo episodes culminating at the end of the Mohn arc with Lillie and Gladion before Journeys ends.
Erika will also return in the upcoming Heracross episode.
So is journeys ending with Legends Arceus kicking off a new anime? Or are they likely to adapt a Hisuian arc?
It's already been announced a 4 episode Amazon Prime exclusive Legends arc will air involving Ash, Goh, and Dawn. Otherwise, Journeys goes on as usual.
I feel like it's not a coincidence at all it lead them to Butch and Cassidy, I bet they're still with TR.
