I really really recommend the game! You can also auto-update the game in rest mode while you are at school/work and it'll be ready by the time you get back.
(well I guess that is dependent on your internet connection)

I'm used to the drought.. After all I play World of Warcraft for 15 years!
I don't really care about DG or the zombie genre that much, but if there's a Sony first party game which is really suited for a sequel is that one: it's a new IP and has a lot of potential, especially with the hordes in next-gen. Also, dynamic weather and all of that. I can see Bend Studio growing a lot, it's impressive they put out a game like DG with their previous size.
Anyways, I wish I liked Horizon more :( Although I'm sure that Horizon 2 is going to be hype and I'll be ultimately interested in it.
We also should be getting a new Guerrilla game beyond Horizon, right? And SSM and ND are probably going to debut new IPs next-gen as well.

Yes we do, there's a lot of potential with a sequel and I'm really curious to see what the devs could do.
Absolutely, make one sequel and then hopefully something new.
That UC4 reminded me how above everyone else ND is in the animation/cutscene direction department, their characters move and act like proper human beings with all their subtleties.
Just look at how Nate moves his hands as he tries to tie the pieces together, that's what i'd do in that situation. Speechless.

As much as I liked this games I honestly would trade the inevitable Horizon 2, Spider Man 2, GoW 2, DG 2 for new ips. New console gen is always a great opportunity to introduce new stuff.
I rather not wait til 3-4 years Into the next gen for these studios to release one game.

A studio can't create a new IP and develop a sequel at the same time. They can develop a sequel while the new IP is in pre-production (like Guerrilla Games did with Horizon: Zero Dawn and Killzone: Shadow Fall, or now with Horizon 2 and the Killzone reboot), but not have two different games in full production at the same time.
Part two's normally have a big jump in growth in a IP and them being on next gen will make the jump even bigger .
IMO a games should always get at least one sequel unless it's a GaaS games where they update stuff all the time.
AAA next gen games wont take less than 3 years to produce just because they are sequels to last gen games. Good management, effient tools/engine and skilled devs are the key factors. We had plenty of examples this in the current generation. You are setting yourself up for disappointment if that's your expectation.

What makes you think studios would only be capable of releasing a new ip 3 years into the generation?
Let's take GG,suckerpunch and Bend. Released new ip in 2017,2020 and 2019.
they all took 6-7 years. You telling me they can drop another new ip in 3 years compared to a sequel they can build upon and have the bases for already
Or you could take Death Stranding and Outer Worlds, new ips developed in 3-4 years.
Wonder why a lot of people that worked with Kojima were so impressed with how insanely quickly he developed a new IP from the ground up if all studios can make it in that timeframe.
You'll get new IP as well. Big sure fire sellers like Spiderman and God of War fund new IP's. Plus, from first party and 3rd new ideas will be represented in new hardware, that often times is best represented in new IP.
Sony has some dormant stuff I would love to see brought back though. Ape Escape and Socom when?!
Depends on the scale. Pixelopus relesed 2 new IPs this gen.
