Good on Sony, this is probably the right decision.
However, there's an argument to be made for the need for some positive/fun news during times of distress. Regardless, the decision is a good one since it can also come off as tone deaf if not treated properly.
Would come across poorly. It would be about as genuine as the commercials with big corperations coming out to support Covid first line workers. They could've used this event as a platform to take a stand and say something meaningful, instead they just push it out of the way. So they're choosing to stay silent instead of using their reveal to send a message to millions of people watching? I know they said their stance on Twitter, but restating it at the start of this highly anticipated conference would've spoke loudly.
They might just send out a new re-cut ad with a "stay tuned" instead of a date.
seriously lol fucking morons. Like it matters when the actual release is months away anywayHoly shit I busted out laughing at the "XBOX WOULD NEVER DO THIS!" post
These fucking dorks, good lord
Wow I didn't expect that.FOR NEW PAGE
The event was scheduled the same day as the memorial service for George Floyd, it had to be moved.
I understand, although I was looking forward to something happy and good :(
Yeah, this. Glad the event has been moved.FOR NEW PAGE

Sony's purpose for this showcase isn't to have fun though. Its a commercial, its to sell people on their product, and a time when people are overwhelmingly angry, and sad, and scared, is usually not a good time sell them shit.
So? A lot of people are pushing something bigger. It's just videos games. You'll be fine without some video game presentation to cheer you up. Social issues are far greater and people need to see this. Sony did the right thing.Disappointing. A lot of people around the world were looking forward to this event as a bit of a cheer up with everything else that's going on in the world.
Good point, I hope they do this. They might just send out a new re-cut ad with a "stay tuned" instead of a date.
Makes sense for them to transition into the industry they really want to be in
Uh yeah, I really hope this is in response to the current situation and not in response to your emotions of missing a game info drop.
Yea that wouldn't have been a good look.FOR NEW PAGE

That makes sense. There is memorial service for Floyd on 4th, they simply cannot stream it then.
Probably moved a week.
This is good of Sony and the right sentiment, but I think the situation will have subsided by Thursday.
True, I'm in full agreement with you there.Sony's purpose for this showcase isn't to have fun though. Its a commercial, its to sell people on their product, and a time when people are overwhelmingly angry, and sad, and scared, is usually not a good time sell them shit.
Same, was pretty excited, but this is way more important.im bummed but this is the right move, even if they just spent a ton on marketing this event on espn
Didn't know this. Would have been crazy for them to continue what is essentially an hour long ad this day.FOR NEW PAGE
