It's disappointing it has had to be postponed, I personally thought they could have gone ahead and used their platform to highlight it further.

Edited to add: I mean use their platform to highlight the injustices further, but I'm of the mind that silence feels complicit
you realize this was a prerecorded event, yes?

The right choice, but damn, Sony is not having a good run with event timing for the PS5 huh?

Expected and the right move... nonetheless I'm super sad. Having a rough time at the moment and was really looking forward to this.

Smart move. It definitely adds weight to their earlier statements. Actions speak louder than words.

Good move. Good for PR. I doubt it gets delayed more than a week or so, anyway. I'm bummed - and was looking forward to some good news. But it's a video game system reveal - a few more days won't kill me. Understandable but disappointing.

Good on Sony, this is probably the right decision.

However, there's an argument to be made for the need for some positive/fun news during times of distress. Regardless, the decision is a good one since it can also come off as tone deaf if not treated properly.

Sony's purpose for this showcase isn't to have fun though. Its a commercial, its to sell people on their product, and a time when people are overwhelmingly angry, and sad, and scared, is usually not a good time sell them shit.

There is memorial service for Floyd on 4th, they simply cannot stream it then.
Probably moved a week.

I said I wouldn't be surprised if they do but it is disappointing. However, I 100% understand why they did this and support their decision

I was personally hoping for an event with a powerful statement of support for the protests at the beginning, but I'm not going to fault them for delaying one bit.
I was thinking they'd do something like that too. Doesnt make sense to just delay a week later though. Things will still be the same. Maybe July

Right and good move

And if you want to be cynical, the impact would be muted if not drown completely out

Either this was a last minute decision or someone forgot to warn the marketing team.

Understandable and perfectly reasonable given the current protests. We've waited this long, we can wait another week or two while all of our focus is on #BlackLivesMatter.

Wow, really didn't expect that after seeing the ESPN ad. That must have cost them some pennies.

Respect, Sony.

Disappointing. A lot of people around the world were looking forward to this event as a bit of a cheer up with everything else that's going on in the world.
