The tweet implies the games are already downloaded and stored, guessing the hacker found .iso or .bin files for the full games on the device's flash memory.
ironic these are the games id rather play instead of what it comes with
Gran Turismo?
Crash Bandicoot?
MEGA MAN LEGENDS????
Why the fuck weren't these on the main console?????
Would be a great plan to get into legal problemImagine if Sony actually wanted to distribute them, but due to legal issues they weren't able to, then left them inside the console for hackers to enable them.
All part of the plan
I was under the impression that these games aren't actually stored on the console, but are just in a list somewhere in the code (as if they were tested or something at some point).
It only has 16GB of storage so how would these be able to be there along side what actually is there?
I doubt it considering it's just a half-asses emualtion machine without the fake shortage SNES/NES classic had. Besides, in a week we will probably be able to put games on the thing if we can't already.
There you go.
A couple of months later they'll say "AND NOW INTRODUCING MORE GAMES" and have you download a 10 byte unlocker key for $40 or piece meal style.
Going by that twitter thread, the games aren't on there, just menu entries for them.
Wait....so could those be enabled? If so that would make it a worthy buy, even if you have to kinda fiddle with it a bit.
