Yeah, a "deep" dive that assumes the audience needs to be talked too in an ELI5 format and tone... yesh.
That's such a missed opportunity to leverage their gaming history.
They're gonna turn the lights on at the end and it's gonna be Kratos, Aloy, and Nate.

As soon as I saw that, will be skipping out on PS5 at launch and wait till the end of the life cycle. Not having PS2 and 1 BC is incomprehensible. I can understand PS3 BC being hard but come on. Seems the new Xbox is getting more and more enticing now

they have to be. lmao. the architectures are so different. PS4 on should now always have BC based on what their approach is on the GPU etc.
I dont know about "MASSIVELY" . These are complex SOCs. Raw numbers definitely reflect advantages but how they actually turn out practically is what matters. Loading time of 5 seconds is better than loading time of 10 seconds but they are not going to be very noticeable but loading time of 2 minutes is definitely going to be more noticeable than a loading time of a minute.
No PS1/PS2 BC would be a HUGE missed opportunity and a huge fuck up IMO. I would also like PS3 support but I never expected PS3.
Cerny felt like he was talking his way towards something akin to "but PS3 integration is something that will be available to consumers in the future"

Yes? It's a deep dive tech talk for the GDC? They never claimed anything else? It's your own sky high expectations that Sony gave absolutely no hint you should have.
I thought there would be some cool trailer games...videos showing off the PS5 in slick video ads. Something than this.
Why would they even talk about PS1-3 BC? In a developer conference, developers are only concerned about the current market platforms (PS4 and eventually PS5).
My guess is probably no at this point. You might get digital download compatibility with earlier consoles but not much more than that.
