People doubted PS4 was going to be 399 until they announced it and when Andrew House announced it on stage at E3 he used the word Value three times in less than two minutes. They love the word value.

The june event overran by a good 10-15 mins and the last SoP overran too, I think by 10+ mins.
They sat 40 mins but this'll be like an hour long event.

40 minutes is shorter than I was expecting for a follow up to the Future of Gaming event, but if they trim the fat and completely omit Goodbye Volcano High, Godfall, GTAV and Goodbye Volcano High then I should be satisfied.

I always wanted the original video to be simply using the PS5 and jumping from game to game with a narrator like their State or Play videos. Apparently it takes two seconds to cold boot from the dashboard to launch Kena Bridge of Spirits.
They'd sell it at a loss. Goal is to get people to go digital and thus earn more money through games sold digitally.

There's no chance in hell they are going to take a massive hit. How much do you think drives cost? Especially when you buy in bulk for production? Certainly not $100.
i get the feeling they would say something like "expect only games at this event, launch date and pre order details will follow in the coming weeks" to temper expectations. the fact they didnt leads me to believe we will get date/price.
Why in the world is this said so repeatedly? Show me a 4K UHD player that connects to a tv for less than $100?
Consumer electronics products are not priced based on the cost of components alone.

We didn't hear about a digital only PS5 a second before they revealed it either, this doesn't mean anything.
Already explained by me and others 1000 times but I'll explain it again: you price the Digital Edition significantly lower ($399 vs $499 for the SKU with disc drive for example) to get people to buy the Digital Edition. Now all their purchases have to go through the PlayStation Store from which Sony takes an estimated 30% cut. At the new $70 price point that means Sony makes an estimated $21 in revenue from every full priced 3rd party sales through the PlayStation Store. You take the hit to make more money in the long run.
Where did you see this? I thought dusk always said it was multiplat.
Manufacturing cost is not all that determines product cost. Some products sell at a loss, some sell with huge margins.

Yeah, Sony have been pretty good about tempering expectations.
