What do you think will be the standard time it takes to complete FF7R without being a completionist while also not rushing through the game. A standard play through.

Definitely more than 20 (obviously) and I'm gonna guess close to or maybe a little more than 30.

Probably not TOO much padding although I'm sure there will be some. It's a JRPG after all.

I'm expecting about 35 hours, which comes in about 10-15 hours shorter than it took me to beat XII, XIII, and XV, but is still satisfactory.

If they're saying it's a full length RPG, I would guess at least 30 hours.

I could see it being close to the length of a Kingdom Hearts game, so maybe around 25 hours or so.

I get where you're coming from and I know the dev teams are completely different, but even FFXV could be finished in a fair bit under 30 hours if I'm remembering correctly. To be clear, this is just referring to the main story.

I'm hoping 30 hours plus of quality, Hoping they show a bit more of what the game will be like beyond the know story elements and combat to get an idea of how they achieve that for the game.

25-30 hours of main content but there will be some optional not that fun thing that will push 80+ hours on some people. I would bet on a motorcycle racing time attack minigame.

I don't think it will be nearly as long as some people hope - certainly not a "fully explorable Midgar" - and will come with a lot of added busywork and sidequests to pad things out.

20 hours average. 10 if you rush, 30 if you really try to take your time.

Less than a full Final Fantasy length game, but on the higher end of a single action adventure game.

Something like God of War 2018. so about 20-25 hours.

You can only expand Midgar so much.

I'm thinking 10 to 20 with casual play. Honestly why can't we get a clear confirmation on this at this point? It's not like it's gonna take away from sales, people want this and being clear/transparent would be way better than this confusion bs they've been doing.

since you could complete FF7 with a reasonable degree (meaning, no knights of the round/ultima weapons for every character) in around 30 hours...I'd say 10-20 unless it's padded to hell and back.

take the standard time it takes you to finish Midgar in the OG game, flesh out the maps and add a few scenarios... 10-15 hrs sounds about what to reasonably expect.

i'm expecting a fairly abbreviated experience all in all. slightly disappointing but not wholly unwelcome in the era of 80-100+ hr open world rpgs

if they said the actual length i'd imagine it'd be a big fuss. i expect them to side mention before launch like "oh, by the way..." but probably not the hottest idea for them right now

Well, the game is supposed to be so big one Blu-ray disc couldn't possibly contain its sheer amount of awesome, so I'd guess around 30-50 hours of content. So either Midgar is way bigger than FF7 classic (Visiting more sectors and attacking more reactors) or the game doesn't end right after Midgar. Or both.

Square Enix said it's the equivalent of the XIII games, so your typical 30-40 hours for the main story with another 20-40 hours worth of side content. https://www.finalfantasyunion.com/n...eries-compared-to-final-fantasy-xiii-trilogy/

"It will essentially be a full-scale game for each part of the multi-part series," Kitase stated. He then continued by saying "So if we’re just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game."

CG Amor please threadmark this quote/put it in the OP.

20 hours if you beeline the campaign, 50 hours if you do everything is my guess

I'm thinking around 30h for the main story, throw in another 10 or so for sidequests etc.

10-20 hours, 10 hours for main story, 20-30 if you do side content.
Even FFXV's main story was quite short, honestly about 10-15 hours, i can't see FF7R being much longer.

50 hours. I'm expecting long sections of the game with no meaningful story beats at all and boss battles that go for 30 minutes if you're overleveled.

If FFVII:R is just Midgard. It's going to be up to 10-15 hours. If it's the entire 1st CD then 30 to 40 hours.
