I mean, they took a WiiU game with outdated textures (that IIRC were a consequence of an early Wii development), and released it again at full price without fixing them. If you prefer "limited", "partial improvement", or other phrasing it's fine, but from the trailer it's clear they didn't work that hard on the game re-release.
After playing XC:DE, all Nintendo 1st party remasters look worse and worse, for games like Mario Kart that looked good on the WiiU the resolution upgrade is enough, but Pikmin 3 needs new ground/terrain textures to look decent on 2020.
