Poor doggo :/ That guy's just an idiot, dog didn't deserve that.

While this is generally how I would group things, there are weird anomalies. Like, in the midwest, I personally consider it ending with MN, IA, and MO. ND, SD, NE, and KS are more weird Great Plains states that aren't quite midwest, but aren't quite a part of the west. I would also put OK in that grouping.

Also, many would consider KY, WV, and VA southern states, regardless of where they fell in the Civil War or on slavery.
As someone from ND, it is bizarre hearing it not be considered part of the midwest.

Did a search and this blog sums up my feelings pretty accurately.

The Midwest got its name in the late 1800s when "the West" was considered rough, unsettled country.

Is Virginia really considered part of the North East now? It was the home of the capital of the Confederacy.
