Layton and Phoenix actually have history with Nintendo so I'd go with them, Phoenix I'd especially like to see.
Real talk, what IS history with Nintendo?
Spyro debuted on Nintendo/GBA 2 and a half weeks after Ace Attorney released, which was 4 years before the western port on DS. Sure, it had 3 PS1 exclusive games prior to that, but after that, it was always a Nintendo franchise, even if it wasn't the lead platform for the home console versions. It had 3 exclusive GBA games, a GBA exclusive crossover game with Crash, and a DS exclusive sequel to the multiplatform Heroes Tail. Outside of those, every game released on Nintendo as well as the PS console (Xbox got most of them), and the Legend of Spyro trilogy ALSO got exclusive versions for the current handhelds of the time.
Hell, here in the UK, Professor Layton and the Curious Village released in the same month as the final Spyro game, before they started the Skylanders stuff. The series had had 5 Nintendo console games, 3 of which had Nintendo handheld exclusive versions, 5 exclusive handheld games, and come to a conclusion (until the trilogy remake a decade later, which means every Spyro game is available on a Nintendo platform in some form) by the time the first Professor Layton game released.
How is that not history with Nintendo?
