I got 14k+ hours on pso2 jp and am extremely well versed in its mechanics. This is what i noticed:
-Day night cycling exists which could also suggest beats from PSO1 is back as a measurement of time, but could just be simple day and night cycling.
-In the video the weapons you can find being used or in the cgi are: sword, rod, assault rifle, twin daggers, knuckles, wand, twin machineguns,
and jet boots? (slightly unsure but appears to be doing vinto gigue at :54 https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=54) Edit: This is probably just backhand smash even though its more dramatic with a kick she also attacks with the back of her fist and you can see fists on her back as she dashes in.
- The character is not using a class that exists currently. He is able to use rod, sword, and assault rifle on the fly and its not just editing as the cg also shows him doing it and the cooldowns on the video show that some sequences happen in the same area. It's possible classes will be reworked on how weapons are being used. This could also be why some successor traits are built into other weapons now.
- While using a sword, the main character steps an attack and does what appears to be a counter normal similar to hero
- The laser
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=75 is not a wand ET move it's helix proi. It's likely not a placeholder icon or anything because if you notice you dont see a mag anywhere. Mags could be different here and photon blasts seem reworked to be powerful personal attacks or mags are just represented differently and still exist somewhere.
-Elemental Weakness is back
- Damage numbers are way lower even for the low lvs they have. tutorial Damage on current pso2 with a lv 1 character can hit over 300 damage where here you hit single and double digits a lot and rarely go past 100. Helix proi was doing 200ish damage a hit which means that photon blasts are very strong here almost like compound attack level.
-Single party has a max of 4 players but the field they are in seemingly has a cap of 8 players as the icon in the top right changes to orange when 8 players are fighting the Didal Sword.
-The 8 player cap suggests this area likely is a free field that has been reworked and expanded into a huge area. I speculate that multiple kinds of areas like ruins, enchanted forest, and naverious have been reworked into one giant zone to achieve this. You can see what appears to be a sign post
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=31 which indicates that there might be several points of interests to travel to.
-
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=18 the blue rectangle icon near the water could mean fishing and gathering is back, but could also be for something else. Other green icons are around on the ground as well which are reminiscent of mining points but that's just speculation.
-It appears some PA's are skills with cooldowns now. If you look at diffuse shell here:
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=82 it doesnt take any pp and after its used you see a sparkle as its consumed and it is now greyed out. This could mean certain pas are now repurposed as weapon skills now forcing you to use other pas. It's also very strong if you compare its damage to other pas and moves.
Edit: It appears that the diffuse shell actually builds up over time based upon the damage you do to the enemy which you can see here:
https://youtu.be/8iR5IKhomK4?t=72 once you watch the back pallet youll see once the piercing shell hits the diffuse shell use bar builds up a bit here.
Here's some various pas from the old game:
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=52 - twister fall
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=71 - piercing shell
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=71 - rising edge
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=74 - rafoie? (foie is on pallet but they already pressed something else before showing it and foie usually travels)
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=77 - Edit: While I thought this was satellie cannon it appears to be another photon blast that looks like satellite cannon.
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=82 - diffuse shell
https://youtu.be/-k7MzIcPC8M?t=86 - Edit: After watching again it looks like a weapon action for rifle that consumes no pp and is used for attack and avoiding at the same time. Its reminiscent of the parallel and impact sliders, but it's just a weapon action of sorts now.
