All the voice actors for the main party are returning so if you wanted to hear Xander's Joker speak in full here you go
Wait what?
Nevermind.
It's just kinda unremarkable IMO. It doesn't have as much fun with the MC as P4A or give him depth like P3A did.Pretty cool. I've heard mixed things about this one but I thought the P4 anime was a pretty good time.
Ay yo what?
Always a fun time seeing people get introduced to Aniplex.
oh god, WHY
P4 anime was good because they leaned into the daily life comedy scenes and explored certain things more in depth than the game did. Yu Narukami was also a fun character to watch, with actual development. Some scenes also had great directing that could only be done in anime form, like what they did with the Void Quest dungeon.Pretty cool. Are they the ones who charged like $80 for a single P3 OVA???

That's Aniplex USA for you. They basically release and price things like the JP releases are priced. They also have shows like Anohana and Madoka, both around 11-12 episodes, at $120 each. And I'm pretty sure Madoka was originally released in 3 volumes that were like $70 each.
That is so wild. Who is possibly paying that price? I had mild enjoyment while watching the Persona 4 Animation but I'm sorry there isn't a season of any television show that's worth $300 USD, and certainly not this one if it's anything like P4's animation.
It's a series
The P5 anime, however, is almost a 1:1 retelling of the game. They did not let the P5 protagonist become his own character unlike the other adaptations, so he remains a mostly silent blank slate with barely any real arc or personality. Pretty much all of the scenes are directly from the game, so there is no unique or interesting element that could only be done through an anime adaptation, unlike the others. There are two big reasons for this:
- They started work on the anime before the game actually came out. They did not intend to use feedback or reception from the game and apply that to the anime. Instead, they just worked on what the game showed itself, and the safest way to do that is to just retell the game in a straightforward manner.
- The creators thought they made Yu Narukami too much of his own character in the P4 spin-offs, and they wanted to scale things back with the P5 protagonist in his own spin-offs. That makes for a character with less personality, and that can be boring to follow in something like an anime where you don't have any control.

The P3 anime had great action scenes, it looked good for the most part, and the focus on the protagonist Makoto Yuki told a story unlike what the game presented.

Does Persona 5: The Animation have the homophobic scenes from the original game?
People, please do not buy this DVD (well, if the price didn't already scare you...). Atlus decided that the homophobic jokes were so important that they needed to make expensive animation based on them. Games normally cut the more unimportant bits when going to anime versions, but Atlus thought this was important and funny enough to keep in the script and expensively animate.
......I really doubt it was Atlus' personal decision to demand that be included.People, please do not buy this DVD (well, if the price didn't already scare you...). How is it btw? Persona 4 animation felt like a decent enough retelling of the story, but nothing special.
Did the studio ever do touch ups for the show for the dvd/blu ray release? I remember there being a lot of criticism for some of the animation looking stilted and characters looking off model in the early episodes
I don't understand the price, it should be like $30. Is it some kind of ultimate special edition?
That's savings, though. $398.98 knocked down to only $298.98. What a BARGAIN!Also here's the pre-order link: https://www.rightstufanime.com/PERSONA5-the-Animation-Blu-ray
