We still getting the who asked for this question? Because I dont want to keep posting that tweet that smt/persona was a series fans wanted to have as a musou from famitsu.

Could I actually get that tweet? I thought this was pretty neat so it's nice to see that this was something people have actually wanted for a while.

I'm asking myself: who this Switch version is aimed to?, I know everyone can buy and play the game, but considering how past musou licensed games have been or even Persona Q, it probably will be FAR more enjoyable if you at least know who the characters are and their story.

It would have to be someone with a Switch that already played Persona 5. That most likely was on PS4, and if you have a PS4 the only reason to pick the Switch version would be for portability, in that case why aren't you releasing the royale then?

The only people I can think are the ones that played Persona 5 on PS3 and only have bought a Switch, which are probably like 10 people.

For the bolded, the simple answer is Atlus isn't developing it, Koei Tecmo is. They've got way more experience with the Switch hardware and are probably using an engine they're very familiar with, Royal would be a whole porting process on Atlus's side. It wasn't a this-or-that situation.

Also plenty of people who played P5 on PS4 will like to play their musou games portably, I'm still mulling over which version to get. They're tailor made for pick-up-and-play in a way a 100 JRPG isn't.

Fingers crossed it's a good one! Musou can certainly be hit or miss but there's an opportunity for a great game here so I hope they capitalize on it!

Funnily enough me and Ketkat were ruminating earlier in the week about the possibility it would be a Musou and how appropriate Mementos would be for the theme before quickly laughing off the possibility it would actually be a Musou.

I was really gambling it would be Stadium.

You underestimate the people that would buy this for portability. Also, this is a company that released Persona Q on the 3DS, which had no Persona games, and Persona 4 Arena in Xbox, they also had no Persona games. You're thinking way too hard about this.

Umm, PS4/Switch is a pretty common combo and musuo games are way better when portable.

I'm sure it'd be profitable to release Royale on Switch but it's entirely possible they'd rather put their time and effort into other matters. Musuo's are likely far easier to develop and port than a 100 RPG and they're starting from scratch (likely) for it to be on Switch. Royale is built on the older game.

Maybe they just don't want it on Switch.

This really makes me wonder if they're concerned about having both a mainline Persona game and a mainline SMT game on the same system. Hasn't happened since PS2. I might get it, entirely depends on the roster.

Oh hey a persona 5 game on switch afterall! I might check it out, though it would be quite lovely if characters from P3 & 4 are in it too.

I played Persona 5 on PS4 and will probably get Scramble on Switch because I want to play it handheld. I don't get why you're acting like it's impossible to own two modern game consoles.

I imagine the same group of people who wanted Persona Arena on 360.

Koei Tecmo makes Switch version of pretty much all of their games. They said themselves they have no difficulty in making them. There's nothing lost by making a Switch version of P5 Scramble for those who'd want it in a portable way.

I think I didn't express myself very well, yes, there is definitely PS4/Switch users thatalready played Persona 5 and would want to play the game on the GO, that's clearly the people this game is aimed to, however, my issue it's that if they are caring about them with S, it's baffling they are not doing the same with The Royale. But yeah, it probably is because it's easier to develop, though Who knows maybe it's just because "reasons".

Also I don't think it's 100% the same case as Persona Q because while those games were developed for Playstation and 3DS users, at least in that case the 3DS couldn't really run Persona 3 and 4 properly and also they were 3DS exclusive because second screen so if you were a Playstation focused fan there wasn't another way to play the game unlike this one. Not a huge difference but still

dafuq? Just saw this now... eh... hahah! wut?

This is too funny. I might actually pick this up for cheap at some point if it has some redeeming qualities. Not a massive musou fan... but Berserk was fun for a while.

Sakurai really created new life with Joker in smash. It's really sad to see people hating on the character cause he's not Nintendo. Well, he was on ds but apparently that doesnt count.

I was saying the 'S' would stand for stupid, because whatever they did would probably be dumb as hell, looks like I was right :P

At this point I'm assuming Sony has some kind of exclusivity agreement for persona 5 proper

So are jrpgs, which is were the massive fuckup lies. Even if atlus felt they didn't have the talent to develop a switch version on their own, there are plenty of studios nowadays who exist mostly for porting stuff to other stuff that they could have hired.

Why announce Persona 5 for Switch now when you can wait until everyone picks up Royal on PS4 and then sell it to them again on Switch a year later.

There's lots of story, usually. Not particularly amazing ones, and usually limited in presentation, but certainly not lacking in amount.

The really interesting thing is that musous usually let you play both sides of a conflict, so I'm curious as to whether or not we'll get villain characters doing villain things.
That would be neat, playing from the opposite perspective. I think with Persona, it's always about the cast, so just being having the option to play as each party member through what looks to be hordes of enemies, sprinkling in some actual plot in there, will be an enjoy experience.

I get this isn't what most people wanted nor expected, (I myself wanted to see what P5 Arena would look like), the more I think about it the more I'm content with what it is.

I'm really down for this and I'll probably pick it up if it's better than Fire Emblem Warriors. I really loved Hyrule Warriors and the Dragon Quest ones so this is right up my alley!

Just get a PS4 if you really want to play Persona 5 so badly. Otherwise the portbegging just sounds like some thinly-veiled console warring (much like MHW).

As for P5S... eh, I've both a PS4 and Switch, but I don't like Musou games very much, so pass.

I'd imagined a lot more Switch users loving this like they did Hyrule and FE musou.

Whelp.

i guess people who only buy nintendo consoles and love nintendo games enough to purchase hyrule warriors and fire emblem warriors but did not purchase the super smash bros ultimate game, and also did not watch the persona 5 annie may, probably aren't the target for it.
