I have no idea what "Dark Brandon" is and really don't want to, but a whole of shit drifts back and forth between surface sincerity and false irony. "It's ironic!" is the last gasp of the imbecile. A lot of garbage starts off as pseudo-ironic and then shockingly becomes a slogan, probably because it was never ironic. Turds on the supposed left who adopt it only propagate it.
It is wildly embarrassing.

The actual let's go Brandon story is funny, and calling Biden "Joe Brandon" is so stupid it becomes funny

What the original story? Yes it is, it's literally a Simpsons joke come to life. "They're saying Boo-urns!" C'mon, how is it not funny. Cons aren't funny, but that mistake was.
Yeah, Trump is a demagogue and that shit never goes away completely. Much like Mussolini and Hitler, even after both of their countries burned and millions of their citizens were dead directly from the decisions these men made they still had people willing to die for them. And unfortunately a large part of humanity will always love fascism.
Watching Trump rise must be like what it was like to be an ordinary German watching people fall for Hitler complete with no one taking either seriously until they had too. There is a book I read The German War: A Nation Under Arms and there are letters between families that completely fall apart due to their family members falling for the Nazis and their rhetoric much like what you see today on Reddit with Trump and the Republican Party. The same things are said even, questioning how the same person that raised them to be kind to others and know right from wrong are the same people that became diehard Nazis supporters, not even recognizing them as the same people they once were, telling their parents they can no longer speak to them while they support the Nazis and their parents not caring at all. It was eerie how similar they were.
It's not sincere it's basically a parody of how Q Anon treated Trump as some Machiavellian genius always about to unleash the storm and eliminate his enemies.
It's this weird aspect of crypto-fascism where they feel the need to either: pretend something's secret when it's really not or use soundalikes to end up with a completely different term to mean something else.

Dark Brandon arose out of lefty twitterverse and is basically similar to "Punished" meme. It's also used ironically a lot. The meme is basically Biden going yolo, whether its locking children in cages or ostensibly saying or doing something that is correct. For example it gained more traction after he said this in Jerusalem

We know Biden is a doddering fool and Israel apologist but we knew that before we voted for him, and we did so only to keep the creature from the black lagoon away. I don't get the point in "ironically" calling him Brandon like that isn't exactly what the chuds want.

Most people don't even realize that the second half of "let's go brandon" is "show me your butthole".

It's kind of amazing how it came from a crowd chanting at a NASCAR Xfinity race and an announcer covering. I'm a pretty big NASCAR fan and a sizeable chunk of NASCAR reddit thinks its very dumb. Very popular on twitter though! I've made the point of "Just say what you mean, just say "Fuck Joe Biden". It's OK" and most responses to that are "Let's GO Brandon!". Alrighty then.
