Sooo, Kaspersky Total Security, what is the general consensus about it? I saw a video where it was explained that it was the best protection available and that we shouldn't be concerned about the Russian government
I got 3 different keys and I'm thinking about giving them to my friends, but I want to make sure that I am not putting them at risk.

Edit: Ok, security programs are the devil
Thanks,
o/

unless people are downloading torrents or sharing USB drives I wouldn't bother. a better strategy is to have a hardened browser because thats the most common vector for trojans/viruses outside of illegal downloads.

Addicted to Roller Coaster Tycoon like I'm 12 again. Feels good. Classic is such a good remaster of them.

Kill it with fire and just stick to Windows Defender. Almost all security suites are worse than the problems they are supposed to fix.

I'm approaching the end of Wasteland 3, and while this is a pretty good game, the decision to not have any kind of fast-travel is flabbergasting. Having to cross the entire map just because I need to do a small thing at Rangers HQ is painful.

You'll be fine with just Windows Defender.

Yeah, wasteland 3's insistence on making you drive the vehicle around in the 'overworld' is just....super baffling to me, especially with how relatively poor it controls.

I get the desire for more 'control' over your overworld traversal compared to WL2, but it's....not good.

You can use the tow button to get straight to Colorado springs, IIRC, but even so.

outside of corporate environments, consumer endpoint protection is all pretty horrible so sticking with Defender is definitely the way to go

Ok, so security programs are unnecessary nowadays because Windows Defender is good enough, unless my [...] friends like to do suspicious things on the internet, in which case they might need extra protection.
Thanks

Hey, what do you think of this desk for PC gaming?

Where do you put the third monitor?

Looks nice, but I'd stub my toes on those corners all the time. That's a me problem though.

The Grey Wash and Carbon Black are nice too except that pattern on the desk's top on the carbon black.

Ooh, I like the Rustic Brown /Black. Matches my other overstained furniture. Six coats isn't too much, right?

In the pics of it up against the wall, the legspace looks nice and wide. Good for wheelchair folks like me.

This Era bubble take that Outer Worlds isnt good triggers me. Game is a solid 8/10 or 4/5 or whatever you want to call it. Not everything has to be GOTY >_>
Using the entire scale I'd absolutely have given Outer Worlds a 6 or 6.5 by the time I finished it. That isn't an indictment or major criticism, the game just became unsatisfyingly empty after the highs of the initial planet, and I had to drag myself through the latter third.

Outer Worlds (seemingly) has a similar issue to some RPGs in that a lot of the 'newness'/schtick is concentrated pretty heavy early on - by the time you reach the endgame, it's (potentially) wearing a little thin, and/or the budget is showing.

The gunplay and skill trees are also pretty basic, and the combat's pretty limited on weapon variety and enemy types - going through Monarch and fighting the same 3 animal types in various forms and elemental resistances, and/or 3 raider types got pretty old real fast.

I'm excited for a sequel with an MS-backed budget, though - the foundation is there, IMO, and the game does a good job of moment-to-moment roleplaying, even if the greater 'moral choice' is patently absurd on the evil side - one of the two DLC packs at least kinda-sorta helps with that aspect and both the DLCs have good stories/quests.

Game definitely doesn't live up to (bug-patched) New Vegas or what have you, but it's a fine 7-8 game.

Parvati is also a treasure.

Expected, but I figured they'd wait till they saw sales of the first to announce the second. Of course it would make more sense to bundle it but why do that when you can sell two games and suckers (like me) will eat it up.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on PC will include the full main story and its continued narrative in Marvel's Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps DLC, which features three accompanying story chapters in Peter Parker's journey along with additional missions and challenges for players to discover.

Also expected, but cool to see. Can't wait to see what modders will do.

Expect Spider-Gwen. And the symbiote suit.

Hadn't realised this got some new chapters. Really lovely short game, just vibes really, soaking in the ambiance with some light puzzling and painting mechanics.

I am looking for that really nice conference schedule someone makes every year where all conferences are listed with their starting times in multiple time zones. I think I saw it in some thread but can't find it now, anyone know what I'm referring to and where to find it?

I've also been meaning to play The Solitaire Conspiracy. Surprised to see it discounted so much deeper on NSW than it has been on PC. I would've expected to see it the other way around, but maybe trends are starting to shift. Almost caved, but I think I'd rather play it with a mouse.

My partner builds PCs and usually puts ESET on for new clients. But he says Windows Defender has come a long way and is also fine if you don't want to deal with the hassle of separate security software.

Its small and doesn't have space. Never liked those stair steps designs

But at the end of the day it depends on you and if you think thats enough space

Started FF IX, didnt play it since the og release on the PSX. It looks glorious with the moguri mod, it has some stunning backgrounds. Again, the mod community to the rescue, brilliant work from them.
