Yeah, this is actually my plan for now. After a month, the game might probably be discounted for the first time, and combined with the 1-month premier it'll be $60. If it turns out very bad (hopefully not), there's The Division 2 waiting in March.

I wonder, what happens to the special edition goodies if we get Premier for a month then go down to the standard edition while cancelling Premier? That might be more of an Origin question than an Anthem specific question.

It's still a bit scummy don't you think? If you are fine with giving these resellers a higher cut than to people who made the product then I won't stop you, but I don't support this.

Free market forces aren't scummy and publishers are not my friends. A video game industry peddling loot boxes, micro/macro-transactions, in full priced single player game too now, and all their other schemes isn't really an industry I care about beyond buying the games I do like as cheaply as possible. I care about video game publishers like I care about the manufacturer of my car, my shoes, my clothes etc. etc. Practically all of these buy cheaply in one country and sell to me with a massive margin of profit.

I would rather spend that money on Warframe. Which is what Anthem is trying to be. Warframe has a very active community already and just came off probably it's biggest year. I only started playing it not long ago and it's good.

I don't trust any website that's been blacklisted from r/GameDeals. Sorry.

Cdkeys is a 100% legit place. It's grey market but they don't do anything illegal like G2A does. PC gamers use cdkeys all of the time.

Deus Ex - Mankind Divided is 4.50 € at cdkeys.com lol.

Was it a shitty port or is there a reason to not play this?

I heard the port wasn't that great at launch but if you have a modern higher end PC it's probably fine. The game is cheap because it's pretty old and didn't sell well so SE doesn't really care about lowering the price. You can get it for around $10 or less when it goes on sale on consoles and steam.

edit: For example it's $4.50 on the steam winter sale now. Around $8 for the game + season pass.

Anthem is whatever, it's the $40 DMCV preorder that's making me conflicted.

Like... I love Dragon's Dogma, and the combat in DMC is very similar, but I just don't like anything else about the game (linear missions, no stats or level progression, skill-and-score based gameplay...).

Thinking of dipping in but on Origin instead of a reseller. I know I'll love it, super excited!

Just keep in mind that capcom keys usually end up being europe only on grey markets. I know it says worldwide now but they don't have the keys yet so they're only guessing. Of course if you're in europe then disregard this and buy it if you want.

enjoyed my time in the alpha but yeah, I'd wait until after the demo next month before preordering

My plan is still to sub for a month to the EA online plan for $15. Play the best edition of Anthem, and then decide after that to buy or not. Hell after a month it will probably be $45 or less anyway.

Yeah, this is most likely one of those sites that buys keys/retail copies in regions where it's super cheap and then resells them for international prices. Developers lose a lot of money.

Actually, the developers get paid regardless. It's the publishers who lose (thought everyone hates EA?), even though they will make it all back and much more through micro-transactions. Can't believe people let a crappy site like reddit dictate what they do.

Edit: Message came out weird.

Edit 2: Also, I'm not suggesting to preorder this game (for obvious reasons). I was just commenting against the usual anti grey market cliches.

I pre-ordered it from them too (RE2). First time using CD Keys, responses about the site are very mixed. Hoping there's no issue with redeeming the key.
If you're in the US I'd refund. They'll most likely get EU keys only.

That said the site is great except for never labeling Capcom keys right.

Their RE2 store page lists it as a World Wide key. I guess I'm taking a gamble here. I can always get it refunded if the key doesn't work.

edit: their FAQ is also pretty confident:

Is there any region lock for Resident Evil 2?
This product is available worldwide; no region lock.

No, the demo is gonna be available to everyone. If you pre-order you get earlier access to the demo. At least that's my understanding. I think demo is available for all on Feb. 1.

Will we get the pre-order bonuses and access to the early demo? Also, is it the regular version or Legion version?

I emailed them about this the other day. They said they checked to make sure and the keys are in fact world wide.

We had wbacon a capcom representative here say to be careful because they shouldn't be. That said they could have just ordered both EU and US boxes and that's why they're saying they're worldwide.

Not pre-ordering this one. The Division 2 is launching close to Anthem and the first one was pretty good, even solo (despite loot, which I don't like, it was the shooting stuff part that was good)
Decent price, but I'll take the wait and see approach.

That's where I'll be spending my money as well. The third-person shooting and cover mechanics are indeed really good. I've since played a number of other games in the genre and none of them felt as good as The Division.

Cause its era and its a multiplayer online only shooter published by EA developed by a previous almost single player only developer, it's like era kryptonite

FWIW... I say this from streams and totally not an alpha I participated in. It has great flying and exploration, it's the shootbang portion that felt a little limp, and is not helped by very uninspired enemy design.

I also quite enjoyed ME3 and ME:A horde mode as an aside.

One of the few games from EA really want to try....cause I love the armor suits design.
Of course I won't pre-order. I will buy it later base the reviews I will see.

I was gonna pick this up but CD keys is giving me some wonky payment processor error. Guess it's for the best but I hope it gets fixed soon, used to shop here all the time.

Try deactivating any adblockers or tracking blockers you are using. Had the same problem until I deactivated Privacy Badger and uBlock for cdkeys.

I can only speak to Capcom games but the above is correct - Steam keys enclosed in physical retail package are geo-fenced to prevent gray market resale. For example, a key stripped out of a European boxed retail version will not work in the Americas.

To those terrified of resellers, I've bought like dozens of games from cdkeys and have never been burned. They are a legit website.

Having said that I have been burned twice by these multiplayer style Co op titles by pre-ordering destiny 1 and 2. While unfair to anthem, impressions were sufficiently mixed from people i know I am holding off until commentary on amount of content and more in depth impressions. I don't mind paying full price if it means not buying a game I get bored off fairly quickly.
