The complicity of the West, USA particularity, with the government of Israel and the invasion of Palestine will be one of the darkest pages of human history of the latter half of the XX and XXI century.
I am not surprised. The people who are surprised in all this are the ones who do not live in the Middle East and do not see the everyday crimes of Israelis.

It's like black americans with the police. You can peacefully protest or debate for change all you want, but not a damn thing will change. They will continue to kill you until you break. Once you break and get violent, they will point a finger and say "see, look how violent those blacks/arabs are".
The article does a good job tackling the fixation on Hamas that all too often is used to shut down criticism of Israeli policy. Well worth the read.
It's unfortunate but largely inevitable given the IDF's violent suppression of them that the protests have been getting more militarized over time.

I think you can say the Israeli government is kinda facist but you can't blame the Israeli people for the actions of the government they keep democratically electing. It was never fully clear though.

Absolutely horrific. They kill medics and journalists with no consequences over and over and over again. It's incredible, not to mention they take billions to US aid every year on top it, even though they are a rich country themselves.
Meanwhile we just cut aid from Central American countries. But no matter what Israel does, that's never even a thought!

Blame the government, sure, but at the end of the day these soldiers are young people that are put in the wrong place at the wrong time and unfortunately easy to sway. Your comparison is not okay.
Compared to last year, there was a relatively peaceful protest yesterday. But when protesters throw bombs at you (you can see in the article) - do you honestly expect soldiers to not shoot? There isn't a single country in the world that would act differently regarding incidents such as these, especially on its borders. In any country in the world where someone acts violently on its border, illegally, he will most likely get shot on the spot.

I've had first hand experience with the IDF/IAF in Lebanon, shoot on sight, my friends mother had her face smashed in by a rifle stock, indiscriminate bombing, land confiscation, fuck everyone of them.
I will not only blame the government, the soldiers take a lot of the blame in gleefully killing innocents.

A couple of weeks ago Hamas had the fine idea of preventing people from protesting because they wanted truce with Israel and all that did was get one civilian killed and the protest continued on because people resisted Hamas.

Israel's PR have done the impossible: Make any action done by Palestinians (armed resistance, BDS) as a threat to Jews yet justifying genocide. Maybe in 100 years where Palestinians are almost extinct will westerners feel a little bit sorry for them. Maybe even Israel will give them a right to return if the numbers are way less then the jewish population. Anything to justify genocide it seems.
