Those are bad numbers for Bravely Default 2. It means that the stock was terrible. It was sold out in the most places the second week.

It was about half the launch of Octopath whixh was 11,700. Digital rate is definitely better than 2018 so a haeder comparison but I honestly expect Bravely to top out at 1-1.25m. I don't see it selling 2m+ on Switch alone like Octopath.

BDII did Top 3 on the Spanish eShop, maybe we could add 1-2k but still far from Octopath.

Yep, 1 million and something should be the ceiling for the game.

Yep, I have the same range in mind.

Which is not bad but tbh I feel they shoulda went for something new instead of Bravely if they were going to give it a better budget.

Octopath is hard to top granted. Original IP that will probably cross 3m units.

i can't tell if that's great for BD2 or not in spain. what were the numbers for 1/second?

Comparison with first Bravely Default is tricky because it was a new IP, initial expectations were lower (nobody expected it would sell that well) and consequently not many units were available, the game was sold out during practically all Christmas. Bravely Default was released in the first week of December and sold in that month around 8.500 units, it eventually reached 24.000.
Bravely Second: End Layer sold 5.300 units in first week, which is practically the same Bravely Default II has sold. For what I have seen sales are In line with other markets like UK or Japan. Despite a similar retail launch digital sales should push it ahead and also it should have a way longer run due to Switch stronger health compared to Nintendo 3DS. Overall though a disappointing performance if we compare it with Octopath Traveler but not a catastrophe by any means. 1 million worldwide is a lock, now let's see how much above that mark can go.

oh wow, thanks for all the info. yeah seems a tiny bit disappointing but at least it didnt open lower than the first games. it seems BD1 really ran on good legs so hopefully the Switch Effect (tm) will allow similarly good long term sales for 2

Good to see BDII continue selling in-between first and second episode, retail only, considering how bigger the digital ration is on Switch over the 3DS
Good result for Persona 5 S too! And not a bad split on Switch, considering that it lacks P5 and P5R to build the fanbase; Koei probably did the right choice to increse its sales, targeting a broader market adding this SKU

Difficult to be disappointed with BD2 retail performance in Spain when it was already selling it stock on week 1 - it should have some kind of legs for its kind of game.

Considering the fact that Bravely Default came out at the end of the month and for the simple fact that it charted in the top 5 tells me that it was a bona fide success because obviously they are not factoring in digital sells since Nintendo does not report digital sales.

Those are bad numbers for Bravely Default 2. It means that the stock was terrible. It was sold out in the most places the second week.
I think the first week is only being reported here. And like I said the game charted up in the top five with all the competition this is a success.

I wonder what the stock situation will be like for this week's UK charts. The Xbox Series S has been in stock for about 4 1/2 days on Amazon UK. PS5 also had a stock refresh on Amazon around the same time but it sold out in a few minutes. The S is also still available in Game and Argos. Seems like they had a large drop this week.

Big PS5 re-stock? I must have missed that as I still can't find that sucker anywhere to purchase.

Nah, the one system that seemed to have a big restock is the Series S. It's been in-stock on the major UK websites for going on 5 days now. The PS5 had a few drops but not as many as the week before, which is where the title came from.

I've been multiplatform for a long ass time now, but as an erstwhile Nintendo fan who lived through the days of Nintendo games getting relegated further and further to the back of the store to a single shelf, waiting to get shot out back, this domination across Europe sure is something.

Is that Yakuza PS5 first week in Spain ? Didn't expect much but also didn't thought Sea of Solitude on Switch would outsell it.

Either way good to see Mario 3D World continuing it's success story.

Even Fifa chartin on Switch...always makes you wonder what the series could have don on Switch it EA took that version more serious.

It's great to see new games from fresh developers top the charts, like Grand Theft Auto V and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
