So my favorite game is considered the worst
It was honestly hard thinking of my top 10 again. Missing out would be Tribes Ascend, Vanquish, Dragon's Dogma, Final Fantasy X-2, Nier, Star Wars Galaxies, Deus Ex Human Revolution, League of Legends, Ages of Empires II, Nier, where I think Nier is the weak link there

No top 10 but in my favorite games, it's definitely Sonic Unleashed. Megaman Starforce 3 being the second lowest I think.

One of the first games that came to mind. Very under-rated, a gem in my library of games.
I've narrowed it down to top 21 games, and the lowest MetaCritic score on there is 82 for 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Some Sonic 2 releases were less than that, but the original was higher.
It was the last game that I checked the score of, too. For a while I thought the honour of the least critically well received game in among my favourites was a three-way tie between Ghost Trick, Mega Man 9 and Pokémon Platinum, but 999 had just one point less. Not that a single point on such a large scale actually means anything.

My personal fav games are always 100 in my personal score anyway, no matter how flawed they are.
It's sorta sad how seriously people take metacritics ftm.
I have this game on my Steam backlog for the longest time, but stuff people say about fighting too much locks the game and stuff always scares the hell out of me.
Is the plot cool? Is really that easy to screw the combat? Game feels so unique and interesting but i always choose a safer game instead.
One of my top 10 of all time it's not reviewed, doesn't have a metacritic score, it's Heroes of Might & Magic III... but from revieweds, worst is Silent Hill 2 with a 70 metacritic score on PC (it's 89 on PS2 I think, so it's still worst reviewed with dark souls).

But two games I think deserve a much better score and are much higher up personally for me than the reviews would suggest are Prey (2017)(79 Metacritic. My Personal score would be 93) and The Evil Within (Metacritic 75. My Personal score would be 85) Same would probably go for The Evil Within 2. Prey is really close to making it into my Top 10 and I don't really have a set Top 10 List.

Dofus is at 72 on metacritic but, its a 15 year old mmo that has been patched so much that its almost indistinguishable from that version so, I don't know if that counts.
Factorio is still in early access so it has no score.
Concrete Jungle has a score of 76 which is honestly criminal, as far as I'm concerned.

Holy shit never really realised Dying Light got mediocre reviews. It's a super decent game.
Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception with a Metacritic of 68, predominantly thanks to reviewers not understanding what a visual novel is, or the cultural backdrop to them.
Keep the game in your memories. I loved Explorers of Darkness as a kid (to the point where the story even made me emotional at points), but I played EotS last year and...it didn't hold up very well imo. The gameplay, the characters, the story. Nothing clicked in the same way.
