Has anyone else finished the Into the Darkness sidequest where the moki lost its keepsake in the mine? I can't tell if I'm doing something wrong nor how to properly proceed, since most of the fetch quest type stuff is pretty poorly signposted. I have Grom's lantern but don't know if I'm supposed to activate it, where I would go to do so, or if I'm just supposed to use something else. I've tried keeping the path lit with the spirit light power from the snow area but it doesn't seem to last for more than a few seconds.

Didn't have as much time to play this yesterday as I'd hoped I would, but what I've played so far confirms that this is something really, REALLY special. Can't wait to continue exploring today.

I was uncertain about the "improved" combat at first - I never had a problem with the combat in the first game, and honestly didn't think the sequel needed Ori doing sick sword combos and fighting giant Dark Souls-esque bosses, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I never subscribed to the "Gears 5 is the best looking game of all time" hype, but this might just be. And the soundtrack is, as expected, sublime.

And, fingers crossed, no technical problems yet on my 1X, other than some mild loading hitches.

Downloaded the 8GB update for Ori WotW, and it still has the sound errors. Ugh. This game is cursed for me.

Edit: This was on the menu, haven't gotten one ingame yet.

Hey devs, please update PC Game Pass once the sound buzzing issue is fixed.

Edit: It is happening!

Hey everyone!
We are actively monitoring different forums to make sure everyone has good time playing Ori. Things seem to be looking quite a lot better since the last patch that landed on X1 and Win10, but our team is hard at work optimizing and fixing.

A few updates for the issues we've gathered so far:

Unusually bad performance on Xbox One X/S:
From what we've seen there's no obvious explanation for this one but all instances we've seen were solved by people reinstalling the game or moving it from external to internal hard drive on their console.

Occasional performance degradation after playing for long periods of time on X1S:
We have identified potential causes for this and will be hot patching this in the next days. In the mean-time the best remedy would be to restart the game if you can, this should eliminate any and all potential stutter.

Buzzing sound issues on Win10
The latest patch should remedy the issue significantly if not completely eliminate it. For those that are still having it on the latest Steam/Win10 version please check if you can exclude the game from your anti-virus software as we've seen that this completely fixed this issue in any test cases we've seen on our end.
We are also looking into updating to the later version of Wwise that should have a more robust fix for this.

Save Progress Being Lost
This issue should be completely fixed with the Day1 patch on X1 and Win10 latest patch. If you encounter anything like this please PM me directly.

Green Health Pickups not being collectible in some cases
This is already fixed and is waiting to get into the very next patch.

Additional planned future improvements
* We are adding exclusive mode to full-screen on PC. Hopefully this fixes any Gsync/Window Manager/etc issues.
* Ability to hide HUD or control its opacity with shortcuts on PC and potentially on the controller.
* A slider for motion blur amount on top of just On/Off. Fixing some cases of nauseating motion blur during camera pans in the game will also be included.
* A slider for game resolution separate from the UI resolution that allows running the game at a % of current window resolution, and even up-sample the game to run at higher resolutions which might be useful to those running a 1080p monitor but can run the game at 4k and want to get that extra bit of sharpness.
* HDR improvements and additional tweaks for X1 and later PC version.
* General optimization and improvements to specific enemies, areas and combat scenarios.

Hope you guys are enjoying the game so far!

Thanks a lot for this. I tried yesterday deleting the game and some others to clear up sufficient contiguous hard disk space (or so I hoped) and did a full shutdown before redownloading, then I loaded my save (right after picking up the sword) and it seemed so much better. I don't know if it was just the full shutdown but anyway, it's a weird fix indeed but it's very welcome. I have to start over though and see if the very first area in the prologue is fixed too as that was massively slowed down for me on first try.

No word though on people stuck on the running Ori loading animation. At least I'm not affected by that, but it takes a bit long and makes me nervous lol.

Regarding the ingame timer, is the first fix applied already on xbox?

Also, I see you've added some suggestions I did here to the next improvements. The blur slider would be nice, but specially the HUD on console would be a very welcome upgrade, wheter it is auto-hiding or transparency or both. Maybe clicking a stick (which I think isn't required for any other action) or both at the same time or holding menu/view for a second or two, as a toggle. But an option to auto-hide until you attack/use energy or get hurt would make the most sense imo, if you accept suggestions. :)

Are there audio issues on the steam version? Might just outright buy rather than fuck around trying to sort it out on gamepass.

Riding a flying animal. Giant tree. Fog-covered floating mountains. Definitely the former.

His friend had a broken wing...that the inventor fixes up with a thing, and they go on a whimsical test flight (including going above the clouds) that goes wrong.
Ori always had floating rocks and giant trees, that's not new.

Not a fan of the side quests so far. They seem to be needless padding. 'Go here get that, give to him'.

Why fill out the game with this stuff? The first game had a perfect length.

Hi guys questions.

A, is it suggested that I play the first story to get a better understanding of this game, or is playing the first one not required?

B, are there any RPG elements?, Does your character level up?

C, if I like Castlevania or any Igavania's, will I like this game?

I think I sequence broke my way into a dead end.
I got to the Luma Pools area and beat the Kwolok boss before I got put on the quest to find the wisps, so when I beat Kwolok I didn't get the Strength of the Forest wisp. Now the quest marker for that wisp is on the map where the boss would be, but he's of course no longer there because I killed him.

I assume you were supposed to go to that area after you get the feather, but here's how I did it:

Watched the GB quick look and only just realised that you can fast travel from anywhere on the map. I thought you had to be at a well. I think that's how it was in the first game?

Played about an hour last night. Really impressed by how they've been able to beef up the combat.

Would play the first simply because this game introduces late game (from 1) mechanics early on and has level design that feels like it is oriented around that skillset. And it's just really good. At the very least I feel like going back to 1 after 2 would feel pretty slow.

No level ups, RPG lite systems in that you can upgrade abilities, your health and magic, quests, etc.

Probably, though the series is typically much more mobility and puzzle platformish oriented, though this game revamps the combat big time.

Game is straight up broken for me on Gamepass pc. Audio is cutting out nonstop and the game hitches. Could be my Windows Insider build messing with it.

You need an ability located in Mouldwood Abyss

I'm only a few hours in, lovin' it!

Playing on PC (Game Pass) and so far I had one tiny pause in the world streaming and one very quick audio "bzzt" immediately after the prologue.
After the 8 GB patch I've had nothing but smooooth gameplay, I hope this continues.

Holy shit! Look at those numbers! There's no doubt that the game is a huge success!

Great! I hope we get to hear the number of players on all Platforms (Game Pass included). Should be a success!

I hope it doesn't go below 90 on metacritic by the way, Moon deserves it totally.

Does anyone know why I'm struggling so much to find the aspiring adventurer who might need a small bag? I'm right where the marker is on the map and I can't find anyone there.

On Steam version right now I can toggle HUD with Alt + U shortcut, just like in Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition.
Oh wow, I can't believe I'm only finding out about this now. How did you find out about it may I ask? It doesn't say anywhere in either game from what I looked

Yes! Thank you. Just so you don't accidentally do extra work(not that you would): A resolution slider already exists in the game for lowering the rendering resolution, but you can't increase it above 100%

Anyone else having problems in getting passed the block in Luma Pools? I hold down A but it seems like Ori still doesn't swim fast enough...

Because that marker is where you picked up that fetch quest chain segment, not where you deliver it.

The bag goes to a Moki inside the wellspring watermill
