That's GAAS for you.

I hope I will be able to transfer my GTAV account from Steam back to PlayStation. I had moved it from PS4 to Steam before, and back then Rockstar had a limit for only 1 transfer.

someone pointed this out on reddit yesterday, on that video next gen gta5 doesn't have a release window despite being previously announced for 2021.

Certain games are going to cross three generations. Wouldn't surprise me if we see another re-release of Skyrim.

How they dare to put the most popular cultural product of all time for what they've obtained a patch exclusivity ?

GTA V still sell more than most of games releasing today so it's not surprising.

Considering how many copies GTAV sells every month, it might as well be a brand new thing for newcomers picking up a console for the first time.

Oh, I can't wait for the literal handful of vehicles Rockstar will give players for triple-dipping.

The Ps3 - > Ps4 conversion redid the weather, foilage completely, had massively improved texturework, lighting, expanded density, more players allowed online, a first person view mode that works universally for all vehicles and on foot, new control schemes. On top of new weapons, vehicles.

I remember how difference the PS3 version with PS4 version of GTAV back then. Assuming ths GTAV trailer is actually from PS4 version from 2014 and has no real PS5 footage. Like this shot in trailer:
gtps5fejll.jpg

And this is GTA V on PS3 (2013):
gtps3o4kfu.jpg

If R* really upgraded/changed a lot of stuff for PS5 version, there could be even more massive difference.

You think that's bad? I heard at one point they were using the tag line "4ThePlayers" when in fact they were not actually for all of the players.

Jesus, I do not remember the PS3 version of the game looking like that. Granted I never played it myself but I watched gameplay when it came out and watched my roommate play it a bit.

I'm looking forward to seeing what type of upgrades we get with GTA V next gen. Might be nothing but still...

With that said cool trailer. I got the PS ad right before the actual trailer lol.

The "brand new thing" is meant for the PS5 in general, not the games on there. It gets clear at the end of the commercial.
But ya, nothing wrong there either way and as others said for the PS5 it would actually be a new thing. ;)

Anyways, nice commercial, can't wait for R&C and I hope Horizon will make it this year.

Faster loading in GTA Online would be enough for me to double...triple...quadruple dip? Man I have bought this game too many times 😒

This commercial has multiple variations.
On a more interesting note: horizon still says second half of 2021, GTAV just says "in development for PS5" despite being announced for second half of 2021, so it might be getting delayed to 2022. Does make you wonder what kind of work are they putting into this rerelease. Building it on RDR2's updated engine?

Makes me think gta 6 is 2024 at the earliest

But at that point there was no PC version

Other than making the game a bit prettier and run a bit smoother, what do you think will actually entice people to play what's gonna be an eight-year old game? Are they gonna finally switch to dedicated servers instead of the peer-to-peer nonsense we've been stuck with for so long? Are they going to tighten up the on-foot controls now that they're no longer beholden to the Houser brothers confusing the word "sluggish" with "immersive"? Are they going to add single-player DLC like was initially promised before realizing pumping out like six different versions of crate-running was more lucrative? Are they gonna add new cities for players to actually roam around in like was mentioned before the game was even released? (Yeah, I was super disappointed with everything about Cayo Perico other than as a proof of concept for what may come.)

Hell, are they gonna fix the physics with the tow truck so it can be brought over to GTA Online? How about the Railgun and the Stun Gun, why are those locked to a couple of Adversary modes and the Casino heist respectively? Are they gonna do something with those Fleeca banks littered around the map? Like, they can't reuse what's already in the game (safe-cracking, drilling, hacking) and allow players to rob those like the convenience stores? How about heist armor, are they gonna fix that so it works with other heists other than the original five? Maybe give the newer armor sets some actual functionality?

Look, I'm honestly not trying to be combative and we're not game developers. Well, I'm not, I dunno about you. I'm just some dude that's been playing this game for far too long. But it's been over seven years and for most of that time, Rockstar seemed content was just milking the shit outta cookie-cutter content instead of substantial, game-changing upgrades. Or hell, even small QOL shit that would've saved a lot of annoyances in the long run. Like, it took until last August for them to add the ability to return your personal vehicle to storage without blowing it up first. They got rid of Johnny-on-the-Spot with the quickness but it took them nearly seven years to add that.

Of course, I could be wrong. There is a chance the next enhanced edition could do some or even all of what I listed. It could ship with an expanded version of Liberty City that spanned an entire state. Hell, it could even sprout arms and give me a happy ending and I'll prolly still be bitching about how they still haven't added a 1st gen NSX to the game.

For real, where the fuck's my Jester Retro Custom?

Apparently not getting sick of GTA V. Bought it at launch on PS3 and played the campaign but hated the Online. Got it on PS4 and played the campaign again (first person mode) but this time I played a bunch of Online. Sold that copy but years later I got the PC version cheap but never actually played it, then I got it cheap on PS4 digital to play some of the next GTA Online content with my cousin and got it free again on PC thanks to Epic. Its just hard to avoid this damn game, especially since PS+ users will get GTA Online for free on PS5, which means if the story mode is cheap then its no brainer for me to bite and play it again at 4k/60 😒

Must there be a GTA 6 if this endless cycle continues?
