The Ps3 - > Ps4 conversion redid the weather, foilage completely, had massively improved texturework, lighting, expanded density, more players allowed online, a first person view mode that works universally for all vehicles and on foot, new control schemes. On top of new weapons, vehicles.
Other than making the game a bit prettier and run a bit smoother, what do you think will actually entice people to play what's gonna be an eight-year old game? Are they gonna finally switch to dedicated servers instead of the peer-to-peer nonsense we've been stuck with for so long? Are they going to tighten up the on-foot controls now that they're no longer beholden to the Houser brothers confusing the word "sluggish" with "immersive"? Are they going to add single-player DLC like was initially promised before realizing pumping out like six different versions of crate-running was more lucrative? Are they gonna add new cities for players to actually roam around in like was mentioned before the game was even released? (Yeah, I was super disappointed with everything about Cayo Perico other than as a proof of concept for what may come.)
Hell, are they gonna fix the physics with the tow truck so it can be brought over to GTA Online? How about the Railgun and the Stun Gun, why are those locked to a couple of Adversary modes and the Casino heist respectively? Are they gonna do something with those Fleeca banks littered around the map? Like, they can't reuse what's already in the game (safe-cracking, drilling, hacking) and allow players to rob those like the convenience stores? How about heist armor, are they gonna fix that so it works with other heists other than the original five? Maybe give the newer armor sets some actual functionality?
Look, I'm honestly not trying to be combative and we're not game developers. Well, I'm not, I dunno about you. I'm just some dude that's been playing this game for far too long. But it's been over seven years and for most of that time, Rockstar seemed content was just milking the shit outta cookie-cutter content instead of substantial, game-changing upgrades. Or hell, even small QOL shit that would've saved a lot of annoyances in the long run. Like, it took until last August for them to add the ability to return your personal vehicle to storage without blowing it up first. They got rid of Johnny-on-the-Spot with the quickness but it took them nearly seven years to add
that.
Of course, I could be wrong. There is a chance the
next enhanced edition could do some or even all of what I listed. It could ship with an expanded version of Liberty City that spanned an entire state. Hell, it could even sprout arms and give me a happy ending and I'll prolly still be bitching about how they still haven't added a 1st gen NSX to the game.
For real, where the fuck's my Jester Retro Custom?
Faster loading in GTA Online would be enough for me to double...triple...quadruple dip? Man I have bought this game too many times 😒
Hey, fellow quad-dipper! What are we doing with our lives?
