I saw those rumors too and it was probably about this. Most of the speculating was about MS talking with Bungie which seems like a small acquisition now.I thought I saw a rumor on here last week about Microsoft looking at an acquisition but don't remember much about it. I don't think anyone predicted ZeniMax
Yeah I guess. But does Bethesda really have that kind of market share or even mindshare?
I'm biased because I hate Bethesda's games, sure Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls are big but... I just think it's too much.
Holy shit
I imagine stuff that is already announced and dated like the Doom expansion pack are likely contracted already so they will come to the PS4 at the very least.Doom is the main game series I'm annoyed about. Eternal is so good, PS4/5 not getting the expansion now sucks. (Or maybe they will? Haven't dug through all the details yet).
Hopefully they're too busy working on Halo RPG to care.
Yep. A lot of people in this thread are still in the bargaining stage of grief
PS5 is one step closer to being in the obnoxious situation as Nintendo's consoles. Being the delivery machine for the company IP. I really hope they'll continue to support Switch but why would they?People thinking Bethesda games will still come out on PlayStation consoles are dreaming.
.Those games are definitely going xbox/pc exclusive. You don´t pay that kinda money to aquire them and then pay them to have them continue making games for your competitor.
Things that are currently in development or have previous contracts for multi platform release will come out everywhere.
After that though, you´re gonna need an xbox or pc if you wanna play bethesda games.
To potentially make more money since this is a massive investment. Minecraft is still available on other platforms. And from a personal stand point I like the idea of as many people playing something as possible.
Because it's kind of Microsoft thing you know. Not creating barriers and stuff.
They will still be multiplatform obviously. 7.5 Billion is a Microsoft acquisition that benefits Xbox. It's just that PlayStation will never be associated with or market another Zenimax game again. Plus the added benefit of Day one Gamepass for Xbox.
Considering how poorly the first one sold, not very likely.
No?
Nintendo is a gaming only company, Sony has PS and a huge movie/music/anime catalog.
And MS has Windows lol
and expensive.
Not necessarily. It seems Bethesda will still publish their games.
I bet they stay multi-platform, but with perks for Xbox / PC like marketing, early access only on Xbox, and Game Pass day one.
The image of Square Enix listed on eBay with Sony and Microsoft trying to get a last second bid on is hilarious to me.People talking about companies reacting to this and making moves like it's as simple as an eBay auction.
I'm assuming
