Correct. Some of the placements on this list are insane. Some true masterpieces, of course, but some movies that are just popcorn flicks or have made their spots on the list due to historical significance as much as for actual film quality judging by today's standards.

I thought I was doing pretty well in the second half of the list and ended on 9. But what is this with the majority landing on 31-40? No way I'll every catch up.

I'd put Inception in my personal Top 50 for sure. lol

I am not sure if I'd call it a Top 50 movie ever, but it is an incredibly fun, imaginative movie with phenomenal production values and influenced (for better or worse, lol) movie scores for the next decade afterwards.

I have an uncomfortable feeling that American History X is not on that list because people appreciated its cinematic qualities.

48! Top Gun 2 being one of them… but that's off the list in a couple of months so then it's back at 49 most likely. Haven't seen Modern Times. Should perhaps get with the times about that…

All of them.

There sure are some dire picks on that top 50 (Intouchables, Interstellar, The Departed, Forrest Gump, Inception).

I haven't seen 5 of them: City of God, Harakiri, Grave of the Fireflies, Modern Times and Rear Window.

I feel some of the movies don't deserve to be on that list tbh: Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar. Inception over ESB? What travesty is this?

17. I haven't seen a lot of older stuff because it's not genres that I pay attention to well. But I'll have to see if I can find any of them on streaming.

and it will probably stay that way. So what I need, is Mission Imposible 7 and Finchers next movie to climb in to the top 49 over the next couple of years, so that I can move up a tier.
