What is the best plan to try to get one of these at release?

Were there any effective strategies for the previous card launches other than renting a bot net?

Why the hell did I get a 2070S last year

worst year to build my first PC

This is always going to happen. There's always new stuff coming out that's better.

But as someone else who also bought a 2070S late last year, I have no regrets because its still a good card. Just keep using it until it becomes a problem and by then something better will be out anyway.

The 3080/3090 has put all previous launches to shame. There is no effective strategy besides dumb luck and/or renting a bot net.

Where is anyone finding the card for the ÂŁ400 mentioned in the op? Back at announcement overclockers.co.uk had cards listed as low as ÂŁ450 but everything is North of ÂŁ500 now.

I don't have much confidence that MSRP will hold.

Amazing performance for the price. Plus, it will likely be better than 2080ti at Ray Tracing? Your move AMD ;). First company to let me buy a card that performs better than a 2080 ti gets my money.

Will watch the reviews after work, but if it's matching a 2080Ti @ 1440p, this may be an option for me. Depends on the price difference - here in Aus looks like it'll be $300-400 cheaper than a 3080, which is significant. I'll probably end up buying whichever I can get my hands on first.

As expected. The 1070 and 2070 matched the older ti or even the titan, while beeing more expensive then the last xx70 model, so this is nothing new. Until the stock situation has improved, the prices are going to be even worse, so hopefully AMD can compete, but I am still not sure about that.

The 2070 matched the 1080, it was a far cry from the 1080Ti. And it was also more expensive than the 1070 at launch. Just goes to show how crap non super turing was price/perf wise.

AMD will be able to compete but likely at the same prices as that of 3070-3080-3090 and - possibly - similarly limited availability.

So, has Nvidia actually confirmed that they will not be selling the RTX 3070 FE on their website at launch? I see many people citing the statement they made, however, that statement only makes mention of the 3080 and 3090.

Are people simply jumping to the conclusion that this also includes the 3070, or has Nvidia actually made mention of it somewhere that I haven't seen?

lets see how much this thing will actually cost, when it is available, th ecurrent pricing structure looks like it will be way more then 500, here on the other hand the 3080 costs 800-900 here so lets see. Could imagine upgrading at one point.

The 2070 didn't match the 1080ti at all, and was $600 at launch. It was a disappointing card. AMD beat the 2070 easily with the 5700 XT and for $200 less. But that's when Nvidia suddenly decided to announce a Super edition at $500.
AMD has shown they can compete. It's just a matter of whether Nvidia will pull a "ti" edition out of their ass like they did the Supers.

Did you take screen caps of a video when you could just link directly to the images in the articles?

Its alot of extra work for an arguably uglier OP.
