My 2070 Super still has lot of life. I will skip RTX 30 and I will jump again with RTX 40 in 2 years

I had to photoshop this to show how absolutely ridiculous this post is. Here's your Switch, bro

I really wish I could preorder and they could make a card based on demand. Why do they have to have items in stock to be able to take money for it? Makes no sense.

I like my PC to actually function. The day I sell my vanilla 2080 is the day I receive my 3090. Who knows when that will be

I never understand people who have the mentality of looking down on others for not selling their current hardware weeks or months before a new iteration appears. Not many people have a secondary GPU to game on or they refuse to be without one for months on end. I usually just give my stuff away if it becomes too cheap to deal with trying to sell online.

I have a FreeSync setup now. Still worthwhile to switch from AMD? And is the 3080 a big jump over 3070?

I want to upgrade my 970 from 2015 to the 3080 next year

Term I was looking for is backorder. How is this a hard concept?

I order an item, if it's not in stock, put me on a list. Ship first come first served to the people on the list.

I got a Titan X, so if I upgrade I'd probably be looking at a 3080 (less VRAM but far better everything else) probably. I imagine it will be sold out everywhere for months on end though. 3090 is sweet as a balls though.

Wow I can finally upgrade my 970, there's actually a reason to now. That 3070 looks spectacular.

how about pcie 2.0? lol

I'm actually serious.
If you're on a 2.0 system then yes. More so because the CPU will be hella old. If you're curiuos bandwidth wise, IIRC the bandwidth doubles each gen, so an x16 2.0 slot == x8 3.0 slot == x4 4.0 slot (bandwidth wise * IIRC). So you could look up some youtube vids or w/e.

But if your system's that old then yeah you're gonna hella bottleneck a 3070.

I'm pretty well locked into Nvidia because of gsync, but I scuttled my plans for the 3090 and will drop down to the 3080. Looks like a great card.

My plan is to just try to get a 3080 and if I can't, well it must be meant to be. I'm sure scalper bots and such will insta-buy out everything with nanoseconds anyways.

I cant wait to see benchmarks for these things....These could be a bigger performance gap than any other Nvidia GPU launch!

Nvidia just dropped a nuke!

What "that date" is he referring to?
17th for the 3080 and 24th for the 3070. Sorry, looks like he was referring to the 24th only. Here's the OP he was replying to:

It's known that Nvidia has set the date as 9/24, but will all of these planned variants release on that date? Also, will the HC & Hybrid kits be available on those date as well?

Hope Corsair comes out with a modular cable so I don't need an adapter for the 12 pin connector...
