I fucking regret buying a 2080s this year. It already wasn't that great, but now it looks like the worst deal ever lol.

Well, just found out that my tax return comes in a month and it can cover a brand new 3070. Thanks government :D

Glad to see the 3070 or 3080 will fit my current SFF case. Just waiting to see some non-reference designs now!

BTW, those Tflops are based off 1.7Ghz.
2080 Ti @ 2Ghz = 17.4 Tf
3070 @ 2Ghz = 23.5 Tf
3080 @ 2Ghz = 34.8 Tf
3090 @ 2Ghz = 42 fucking Tf

These would be amazing prices, if the CAD wasn't so messed up these days.

I think I'll stick with my new (a bit less than a year old) 1660ti for at least another year (probably 2), and then jump on the ray-tracing bandwagon with whatever's in my price range at the time.

Is that really? I refuse to believe a 650W couldn't run that GPU.
Well, the recommended PSU is 750 and I'm not sure if it would be wise for me to try and scrape by with a 9700k and the 3080.

I'm currently rocking the 2070 Super and have been very happy with this card, but I run into compromises trying to run new games at 4K. Is it worth me upgrading to the 3070 or 3080 knowing I could offset the cost by selling my current card?

I think the 2 times performance is with RT and DLSS and vs just the 2080. Thats what it implies on the product page.

Edit: actually borderlands 3 is without them on so yeh maybe in normal raster aswell, but its vs the 2080.

I knew they were being developed but I didn't take that into account. Tha'ts why I'm saying how much of a fucking idiot I am.

And I'm using my PC for gaming. So soon it'll be Cyberpunk, maybe Avengers, etc.
Those games don't require a 30xx series. Nothing coming next gen will require a 30xx. I fail to see how you made a bad investment to the point where you're calling yourself an idiot. By the time you begin to see games asking for this level of power these cards will be widely available for less money.

Fuck man I was hoping to pre-order right away 😅

I might wait a few months before buying the PS5 and just go for the 3080 this fall.

Been planning a pc build for November/December for a while now. Really pleased with the card prices and options. I think my budget will support a 3080, but we'll see. Very excited to finally have a gaming pc!

Wait am i seeing this right or not?

RTX 2080 is 10teraflops and RTX 3080 is 30 teraflops? If yes then holy shi.. i thought we're not gonna go above 20tf for 2 more years..

You are seeing RT performance. Everything in the show was with RT on. They have basically doubled RT performance vs previous gen which means that these readings should be taken with a very big grain of salt. Basically if you play games with RT and DLSS, you will enjoy a big performance boost. In games that do not have those it remains to be seen.

You've got more self control than me.

Also rocking a (just) under a year old 1660ti. Was all set to stick with it through 2022 but.. I was not expecting these prices to be as reasonable as they are. 3070 seems like a big increase for a great price.

If Turing and Ampere Tflops are the same, 3070 gets you 35% more power than a 2080 Ti....

Based Nvidia is trying to make up for 2020

Id go straight to 3080, the jump will be noticeable regardless but the price to perf on the 3080 is too good especially with the sale of your old card

Going for the 3070 since I have a 650W PSU, still pretty excited to get RTX 2080Ti performance on it with faster raytracing and HDMI 2.1 (so I can finally get G-Sync on my OLED B9 to 4k@120Hz resolution)
