Feels like this is the time to upgrade from 970. Seems really good :) My goal would be to go through most of next-gen at 1080p and decent framerate.

The sad thing is that:

3070 --> 499$ = 499€

And add vat to that, 550€ easy

3080 still to expensive for me, 3070 on the other hand :o , especially when coming from a 1070 ti. Will definitely get a new build in January.

I've got a Corsair TX550M running a Ryzen 3600, realistically could I get a 3080 or will it struggle? Didn't expect the high end GPUs to see these price points so instantly regretting my decision to go lower end on the PSU.

1070 to 3080 here I come. Ray traced 1440p at 144hz g-sync will be amazing.

Should be just fine, getting one of these suckers for my H1 case, looks like a perfect fit.
Thanks, I recently built my wife a computer with a 3600, all of these 750/850 PSUs were sold out here. So I had to get a 650 (I sure as hell wasn't about to get a 1000watt PSU) and I was a bit worried about the new cards being too power hungry for 650 but I had no choice.

Gonna need to see benchmarks comparing the 3080 and 3090, especially PCIE 3.0 vs 4.0...

Might just need to go for a new build entirely.

Should there be any noticeable advantages making jumping on a new mobo with PCIE 4.0 worthwhile?

The question is, what time on Sept 17th are they going to be available? I mean, I'll stay up till 3 in the fucking morning if I have to wait for the PST time zone to come around (I'm Eastern).

kind of sucks for the people whose GPU budget is at the $300-$400 level

GTX 970 launched at $330
GTX 1070 launched at$ 380

but then rtx 2070 launched at $500 which threw everything out of whack. at least 3070 remains at that $500 point.

I'm just gonna wait for the 3060, it's still gonna be a massive upgrade over the 1060

For real though, what's the usual protocol with pre-orders for new cards? Do they go up same day as announcement? Do you pre-order from Nvidia's site or does it go up everywhere?

Welp, my 2080ti will replace the 2070 Super in Rig #2. I think I'll just do the 3080, but my stupid illogical head wants the 3090 lol.

So 3060 will probably be around 2070 super/2080 level with 300 - 350 price range.

My 1070 serves me perfectly well. I don't need fancy RTX features. I'm happy at 1080p60. So what if the RTX 3070 has a $500 price tag? Not to mention that the non-NVIDIA variants will probably be even cheaper...

Damn, those are good prices.

Might stick with my 2080Ti until the 3080Ti (next year?) though.

Good to know, 3080 it is.....though I may wait for the 3080 TI in case it supports DP2.0.

I'm not sure that we'll have a Ti. Think about it. We have a 3080 with 10GB of vram for 699 and a 3090 with 24GB of vram for 1499. A 2080 ti costs around 1200. If they launch a 3080ti, let's say with 12GB of vram, with a price on the same ballpark of the 2080ti, it will be not that interesting. I think that if they were planning to release a Ti version, the 3090 would cost 2500 at least. Maybe we will have a super version for all 3000 series in two years.

So the 3080 is gonna be probably $800 for a non founders edition card right?

Looking at this, I'm not even sure the non founders editions are going to be that. When he was announcing those prices, I just assumed those were FE prices. But it says starting at _______. I wonder if the FE will be more and it'll be some real barebones cards that sneak in at those prices.

Is hdmi 2.1 confirmed?

Pretty sure the start of the video said there were 2 of those ports.

Guys, gals, people. This has been asked before but I can't keep up with the thread. Seriously, help a dude out: What can we realistically expect the Series X to compare to with what we are seeing here? Is it going to be comparable to a 3070/goodCPU combo or is what Nvidia showing here a huge leap even over new-gen consoles? Really struggling to make purchasing decisions.

PS5 is a no brainer for me for online play, some multiplats, exclusives, etc. But the XSX hardware itself is getting hard to justify when my PC is pretty solid already and potentially with one of these cards. Does anyone have some rough power ideas yet? Can we even project at this point?
