I agree, if you can find a 3090 FE...
They didn't really mention it, but the 3080ti is basically 3090 performance but with 12GB instead of 24GB.
Isn't the Ti line basically a cut down Titan?
Isn't it short for titanium?
It's actually ti like the first syllable of titanium. Common mistake.
My thoughts exactly.
$100 per GB of vram 😂
Honestly, trying to assess value is hard considering people are so emotional because of the shortages and price hikes because of them.Remember this is pricing for the Founders Edition card and AIB cards are much more expensive now.
Example: 3090 FE is $1499, but a 3090 from brands like Gigabye/MSI/Asus are going for $2100-$2300 at most retailers. EVGA is better, but still more than FE.
I would guess the non-FE 3080 Ti's from brands like Gigabye/MSI/Asus to be somewhere between $1500-$2000 depending on model. EVGA cheaper than that.
3080 by quite a bit.
3080 by a significant margin
If just for videogames will one be needing more than 12GB vram the next few years? (serious question)
Consoles limit PCs quite a bit for RAM, except for the one or two games that release Ultra High HD 8K texture packs. If just for videogames will one be needing more than 12GB vram the next few years? (serious question)
Because if that extra vram on the 3090 is just going to be sitting there wasted, then the 3080ti is still $300 less that could be used in a great ssd or something.
Not at all.If just for videogames will one be needing more than 12GB vram the next few years? (serious question)

I honestly thought about it, but for that small of a jump (looks like around 10% at 4K, even less at lower resolutions) I'm not sure it's worth the time/stress of even trying to get one if you already have a 3080.I'm chilling with my 3080.. but if I copped the 3080ti I would sell my 3080 for the ti price, shamelessly.
considering 3080s are selling for $2600....

This is going to be such a shitshowconsidering 3080s are selling for $2600....
I hate this, I hate all of this. I have a 3080 and I still hate this.
Yea this is probably true. Not only will need to fight bots but then handle the transaction with someone else. Omg that price lmao I'll stick with my 3080 until the 4080 is out thnx.
T.I. is the weirdest of all to me. It's spelled "Ti", with a lowercase "i", if it was "Tee Eye" then it would be "TI".
