Happy to see Days Gone do so well. It's got flaws but it was a great effort from a studio as small as Bend and I really enjoyed my time with it.
Really good foundation to build the IP off of.

Nope. Probably the worst selling one, actually.
Got itNah that one is obviously PS4 with Days Gone being 2nd and MLB 3rd overall.
Bad how? This is only the second simultaneous release of a third party game on the Switch so far, sports titles notwithstanding. All the other have been late ports, and without exception have exceeded expectations. Said expectations were obviously and reasonably not "top charts in the month of release".No comparison of how MK 11 did relatively to X?
I knew 3rd parties situation on the Switch was abysmal, but I didn't think it was this bad.
Watch Matt's video that's linked in the OP, it goes more in-depth. 11 didn't beat X's first month, but that's likely because MKX released on April 14 while MK11 released on April 23.
Okay, that makes more sense
What other 3rd party game should've been able to top the NPD for the Switch? There aren't exactly many major 3rd party titles on the system. MK11 was the first one in a long time that launched in a good enough situation to actually do it. It doesn't mean anything about the Switch's 3rd party situationI knew 3rd parties situation on the Switch was abysmal, but I didn't think it was this bad.

Well, a 3rd party game did top the Switch chart (and NPD overall) since but Nintendo technically published it: Octopath Traveler.I knew 3rd parties situation on the Switch was abysmal, but I didn't think it was this bad.
I'm guessing these are first month sales. Can we get an adjustment list with number of days on sale?Oh sorry i forget about God of War 2:
1. Spiderman: +2.6 million.
2. God of War: ~1.9 million.
3. God of War 3: 1.15 million.
4. Horizon Zero Dawn: No exact number but more than 1 million.
5. The Last of Us: 985K (without digital).
6. God of War 2: 889K
7. Days Gone.
8. Uncharted 4: 879K (without digital).
Is that good for MK11 or bad for the Division 2?MK11 has already outdone The Division 2.
Just let that sink in.
Yeah it was never going to happenMK10 was bigger than Batman Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3 in US NPD during its year of release.
Let that sink in for a bit. There was never any chance of DG doing better than MK in US.

Just let that sink in.

So yeah, really great success for Bend and Days Gone
- Spiderman : > 2.6 million (incl. digital)
- God of War : ~1.9 million. (incl. digital + bundles)
- God of War 3 : 1.15 million
- Horizon Zero Dawn : > 1 million (incl. digital) more than U4 / 640k physical alone
- The Last of Us : 985k physical (> 1 million incl. digital)
- Uncharted 4 : 828k physical / 879k (incl. bundles) / > 1m (incl. digital)
- Days Gone
- God of War 2 : 833k
- Uncharted 3 : 700k
Wonder what would have been the game before that. Mario and Rabbids still used Nintendo IP.
Mario Kart 8 is already at 25m between the WiiU and the Switch version. The former would definitely be one of them. The latter is doing incredibly well for an exclusive, seeing as it'll be above 20 million or so at some point, but it's not quite able to be a complete monster like GTA or Minecraft
Very solid for a new I.P. that did not have the benefit of strong reviews like the other titles on that list. I think Bend are safe.To add some info of kowalski's post

It is indeed! Dethroned KH1 as the best selling game in the franchise back in March.Very happy for Square and Nomura. Kingdom Hearts 3 still the best selling game in 2019? It has to be the best selling KH game of all time by this point right?
Wack story mode, breh.
Wait so whats the breakdown in ratio of MK 11 sales between all 3 platforms?? If Switch sold more than 40-50% compared to the rest than 3rd parties are making inroads on Switch. And man what a juggernaut the Switch is. Can't believe how much sales its doing. Hope next gen comes sooner because Sony PS4 sales don't look likely to reach 120 million soon.
I highly, highly doubt it's 40%. it's probably closer to 20%Wait so whats the breakdown in ratio of MK 11 sales between all 3 platforms?? Ehh still published by Sony so I don't buy that. Most ppl don't know who the specific dev is for most games.Days Gone has done really well for itself. When you consider it's a new IP from a somewhat "unknown" developer, I think its performance is pretty wild to be honest.
Well, not bad for anyone really, but Division 2 is the sequel to Ubisoft's biggest launch of all time (IIRC), so I was surprised that MK beat it.
It's a monster in it's own right but when you giants like Minecraft and GTA V...well...it's not exactly comparable as it is an exclusive but, still, there's a gap for sure. Even then, it's gonna easily hit over 20 million on the Switch alone, no need to even count the Wii U's numbers hereMario Kart 8 is already at 25m between the WiiU and the Switch version.
It sold better in 2018 than in 2017. Its legs are abnormally huge.
Oh okay I thought that you were taking GTAV PS3/X360 numbers into account, that's why. It's a monster in it's own right but when you giants like Minecraft and GTA V...well...it's not exactly comparable as it is an exclusive but, still, there's a gap for sure. That's what I'm saying? 3rd party situation is bad if it took almost 18 months for another game to top the chart. There aren't exactly many major 3rd party titles on the system.
Totally agreed. Hope it stays on the charts next month too.Happy to see Days Gone do so well. It's got flaws but it was a great effort from a studio as small as Bend and I really enjoyed my time with it.

Anthem not even in the top 20 of the past month or top ten on either console...
Ouch.
