I am sure that the same is for most of European countries. Considering the length of the incubation period, the virus took a full month before the tip of the iceberg became evident in Europe at the end of February. I hope that the same won't happen again, testing suspected people as soon as possible, now that despite of February we know the virus is here, and we know the consequences.
Yeah. I think the whole world learned from this tho. Asian countries learned from it with SARS mostly. But was relative "small" in the end.
Alot of countries will have way better protocols ready and will be way more alert for many years. Still a long way to go tho. Until a vaccin i guess.

IL is the state following the CDC guidelines closest, so I can feel good about that. But people still seem to in general be ignoring a lot of it. Also so many people out with masks on not covering their nose, which defeats the mask.

I understand the urge to say the hell with it, i'ts been 3 months and I can't stand it anymore. But in the end if it's saving lives you just gotta do it. At least people can be out. Just wear the damn masks correctly. It's not like anyone has an N95 mask. blue masks don't restrict breathing through your nose. I think a major issue is people think the masks are for themselves. They aren't - they are for you spreading to others. Just because you don't have symptoms doesn't mean you don't have it. They just found out Floyd was a carrier but didn't have symptoms, for instance.

Good god, I had one of my first ventures out, kinda. It was anniversary with my wife so we ordered ice cream pickup at a local place we love. Got there and they were so busy they weren't answering the phone so I went in. All four workers had masks but none were wearing them. They were all down by their neck. And almost no customers were wearing them either. All told about 30+ adults in and out and through and three including me were wearing masks properly. The place also had about 20 people in at once.

I know Cuomo said everyone that is protesting should be tested. But man....how feasible is that?

Really is showing that outside activities are low risk as there was a positive case there with symptoms most of Memorial Day weekend.

No new reported cases of coronavirus connected to parties at Lake of the Ozarks

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. – It’s been nearly two week since scenes of crowded pool parties at the Lake of the Ozarks surfaced, and Missouri’s top health official says there have been no new reported…
Yeah I think that is established fact by now. Spend as much time outdoors as possible.

That's actually crazy. Those pictures were so frightening all those people packed together. I wonder if this means we won't see as big of a resurgence from the protests? Let's hope so. Also spoke to someone yesterday who said if we don't see an uptick in cases from the protests then this was all way overblown. Over 100,000 deaths in the US and climbing but sure, definitely overblown

Yea that kind of thinking might cause an issue in fall/winter when more people are indoors. Still have to remember there are no large indoor events happening and lots of people are still working from home. If those restrictions gets removed then who knows. We've seen how this spreads uncontrolled

That is a big jump in hospitalised cases. Also, Lisbon is gonna keep some lockdown measures in place until June 15, as expected.

CT has now passed 4000 deaths. Daily positivity rate is just under 3%, with 148 new cases, lowest it's been. Net hospitalizations are still dropping. Daily deaths at 18, still too high but we will continue go hope for lower.

Zero deaths in NYC today. Incredible.

FWIW: I went to one of the largest protest gatherings in the city today. I did not see a single person without a mask on. If the transmission from Ozarks was minuscule, I really hope that everyone wearing a mask here makes a big difference.

Median age of patients on intensive care in Belgium (historical, so through the entire period) was 65.

Is testing still....the same way as before where they stick up your nose deep (sounds painful....)?
Just massively uncomfortable. Feels like they're poking your brain.

But to be clear, it's worth it to endure and in turn ease your mind and protect yourself from potentially spreading it to others.

Portugal:

33.969 confirmed cases.
+ 377 since yesterday. 1.1% growth. ( 336 of which are in the Lisbon region)
1.465 deaths.
+ 10 since yesterday.
20.526 recoveries.
+ 203 since yesterday.

475 people hospitalised.
+ 30 since yesterday.
64 in the ICU.
+ 6 since yesterday.

---------

So, in short, Lisbon is driving the growth of the cases, hospitalisations and ICU cases in the country. While the later two are still thankfully very low, a mere 2-3 days ago they were much lower...

Las Vegas officially opened all Hotels/Casinos yesterday!

As for our numbers

Who all is coming to Casinos? Are these out of state people?! Man, we were doing SO GOOD on cases and trending down. One of our hospitals reported 0 COVID cases coming in for the first time ever, but I feel these public gathers are gonna spike it up

I just want to die, seeing America having almost the same timeframe as Brazil and America seemingly has managed to get better and better, 7 cases in a day for Vegas?? No deaths in NYC??

Meanwhile we have 500 deaths in Sao Paulo only, 1439 deaths in total for yesterday and record breaking confirmed cases number every single day.

I just... this is never going to end, people in power are too stupid, why do I even wake up hopeful that things may be better.

Vegas numbers are gonna be all kinds of fudged up cause so many of the folks are just gonna be taking the virus with them to other states and not actual residents. So while it doesn't look bad for the city, it's a huge transmission site for the virus. Most people in vegas at these casinos are out of towners, they just gonna be taking it with them while Vegas is going to be like "see it's not that bad"

Table dancers with masks sure is something.

The D. That's their shtick, they always have girls dancing on tables throughout the casino

A new update

A report said that there are at least 712 deaths not counted in the official reports. Yesterday, health minister said it's not right. Today, it's saying it might be right

That would make it 2.160 total deaths, at least. It's still not in the official report though
