Which sucks since another animated season could actually finish the main plot.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's available anywhere at the moment. But if you can find it somewhere, I think it's worth the rewatch. It definitely has a couple plots that could have been cut or trimmed down, but the core story, characters and action are all great.

This has basically always been a thing as long as it was feasible to do so and probably everyone watching anime goes through a phase of at least trying every single show of the new season.
It's also funny to see some anime do get a huge popularity boost suddenly though it's usually cause there's a new anime or something. I always felt like Hunter X Hunter was pretty obscure (especially for a shonen jump anime) but over the last few years I see it mentioned a loooot more.
Kind of always been like that. We binged the hell out of everything and it's why so many shows have kind of been forgotten by most fans.

I don't. Got taken down 10 years ago, and I have absolutely no idea what happened to the file. We copied it off a VHS from an anime club I was with (we weren't the ones who did the dub).
Damn, well I doubt it had a brilliant comedic denoument and 2 parts is still enough to get the idea, I was just hoping.

Believe me friend, you're preaching to the choir. It's the same mindset that made me go to websites like Rotten.com and 4chan. Because I was a rebel and a badass and gore and nudity was cool and that meant I was cool for watching it and it didn't even phase me man.
Shit, I'm in my 30s still with some of those same sensibilities. Berserk is one of my favorite things EVER. I just don't /need/ gore and badassery anymore. Back then I did it to show off. Now I just watch what piques my interest, and I tend to like things that are a bit dark. But there needs to be a deeper reason behind it. Elfen Lied is just shallow.
As an old anime fan who used to buy these shows on DVD disc by disc as they came out, the only thing I can remember about ROD was the wildly inappropriate pencil boards that came with each disc.
You take that back, Blood-C is amazing! (The movie sucks.)
I've been wanting to revisit Blood+ but no blu-ray. Oh shit, a BD boxset came out in Japan back in 2020. 👀 I wonder if that'll get brought over, not sure who still has the English rights to it. Hopefully it isn't a shitty upscale.
I haven't seen Blood C in a while, but I remember the ending of the show just falling flat for me. It is a series I'd like to revisit sometime, trying not to burden it with the huge expectations I had when I first watched it.
I'd buy a new BD boxset for Blood+ in a heartbeat.
It is literally the most important anime you have never watched.

Every few years I give it another watch and I'm always surprised by how good it is. Just so original, funny, emotional, and relatable (if you've ever suffered from social anxiety or depression). Definitely my favorite anime.
Also, people should ALWAYS be talking about Lain.
For me its Haruhi, School Rumble, Ouran High School Host club, Ergo Proxy, Claymore, Azumanga Daioh...
I love Full Metal Panic. Whenever I feel like watching anime, I'm always going back to older stuff (80's/90's/early 2000).

To be fair, shitty sequels killed Eureka SevenYou couldn't talk anime on the net without discussing these. WHere did the years go, am I going to turn into one of those "anime was better when you had kazaa real media files with badly translated piss yellow subtitles" anime nerds?

Yeah totally agree with you there. I had my stints on 4chan for the edge/shock back in high school and college. Glad I grew out of that.
I also like things to be on the darker side, philosophically, but want more reasons for it than "just because."
I guess we're all growed up!
Hameln is pretty memorable to me, because they clearly ran out of money and they stopped doing animation and just did panning shots over still images most of the time. Calling it an anime is kind of generous. It feels closer a sound & audio drama.
It does make me feel odd and old that when people mention Madoka they're 95% likely to be referring to the magical girl and not the Kimagure Orange Road character, but that's understandable.
Even popular shows tend to rotate out of regular conversation after about 15 to 20 years, give or take a margin of error, unless they're still ongoing as a property or otherwise keeping the brand name alive with spin-offs, merchandise and the like.

When I downloaded eps of Naruto, I'd also go for AonE. Quality seemed good compared to some of the other fabsubs!
