Weren't there tons of new fighting games releases in the past 2 years? New Tekken, new SC, new Dead or Alive, New mortal kombat, new smash (inbe4 not a fighting game), what more do you want?

Like, thinking about it, there's a different fighting game for everyone this gen.

Want a classic? KOF and SF.

Want 3D fighter? Tekken.

Want a character creator? Soulcalibur.

Want cheesecake? DoA.

Want an anime fighter? Cross and DBFZ.

Want some blood and a samurai era setting? SamSho.

Want loads of gore? Mortal Kombat.

Want something inoffensive and super fun for literally everyone? There's Smash.

There's even DISSIDIA and MvC again, even if they're of... 'eh' quality.

And all of these games (except for MvC) are still getting both free updates and character DLC.

Point is, I'm not sure what they could announce at E3 that isn't better suited for EVO or just announcing on the publisher/devs' terms, given it's probably niche at that point.

Seems like there's more fighting games this gen than any other.

Im disappointed no one has evolved the play mechanics yet and truly revolutionized the fighting game genre. At least start a niche of this genre where movement, fighting styles, and abilities are truly diverse and unique to each player. The MMA games should get to this point but theyre so far off from feeling right.

No reaction threads – To prevent clutter we will lock all reaction threads during E3. A reaction thread is a topic about a hot take or some other personal reaction to anything that did or did not happen during E3. Examples include "Why wasn't the Switch 2 announced?", "Did Ubisoft just win E3?" and "I can't believe the leaks were real". These sort of topics can be discussed in news threads and conference threads.
