I liked the early 2000s vibe, song had some "driving on the highway at 2 am" appeal. As far as Cardi B's verse, the beat was too soft and subtle for her to really ride on it, so it comes off a bit dulled.

Really like this, both song and video.

And now that there's a big-ish song with an Aaliyah sample, put Aaliyah's albums on streaming services, you cowards.

This song would be improved a lot by some bass guitar and real drums. Make it an actual soulful number instead of singing in a room strapped to auto tune. Trap-style production is so played out and frankly boring.

I feel like the dance choreography for the video is a really excited compared to the relatively subdued music. It's like the replaced the audio with a completely different song or remix.

I guess they're trying to go for an Aaliyah vibe, but the dancier Aaliyah tracks had much more a groove.

Really bland song. Even blander instrumental, I'm not even sure how you make an Aaliyah sample sound so lifeless. Normani is a talented artist, but this did nothing for me.

Best video??? ...It's fine I guess. Not sure what I'm not seeing. Fancy sets, some nice dancing, feels about standard for a music video. ๐Ÿ˜…
It's inspired, enough.

Great song though. Never heard of Normani till now but she's on my radar and gonna see more

Yeah well said. This feels Aaliyah-vibe than Aaliyah-groove, heh.

Cardi b verse is weak but overall I think it was a good song and the music video was impressive. I especially liked the camera movements in the opening 16 secs or so

Wow.

I mean, I knew Normani's performance ability was kind of hampered by the group dynamic of Fifth Harmony, but damn. She went off for this video.

The song grew on me. I was ready to pass on it for the Aaliyah sample, but the beat STILL slaps, and Normani glides on it, particularly like the vocal layering that kicks in on the second verse.

Song didn't really need Cardi though? Her verse isn't bad, it's typical Cardi. Just didn't fit the flow of the song for me.

Video production is okay, but the song is rat feces. Like, without Cardi it was just meh/bad, but once she starts, it's full blown sewage.

Easily some of the best Music Video choreo I've ever seen.

It's amazing what Sean Bankhead can put in a video, with an artist who can actually hit these steps.

Normani bodied that shit, good lord.

Normani is extremely talented. Been following her since "Love Lies" in 2018, her debut album is taking waaay too long. I like that this track is the opposite of Motivation: Laid back R&B with a hard beat.

Also the fact that Aaliyah's last two albums STILL aren't on streaming services is inexcusable.
I need to have this experimental banger on repeat!

I hate the song it's really bad. This was the first song that made me realize maybe I'm just old ๐Ÿ˜ข Now the choreo is a different stories. She bodied that.

While I really like Cardi's verse and think it's fun, the song didn't need it.

I think Cardi is trying to help boost up the track for Normani and give her a big hit.

Honestly, I feel like we don't get awesome choreography like this in music videos much anymore. Would be nice to see it come back big.

Lyrically sophomoric. Bland.

I'm sure I'd enjoy it a lot more with a stripper's knee jammed in my crotch. On it's own it's not much of a song. Also, there's actual hardcore porn all over the internet, so the video doesn't even have any real utility.

I wish I liked her music more. She's clearly a great performer but I think the only song of hers I've liked is the one with Sam Smith.

Much like most of the thread, I had never heard of Normani until now. She's def on my radar now and I fuck with the dance choreography on the roof (?) in the beginning. So cool.

Great song, hope she finds some chart success and brings this sound to the mainstream big again.
