I actually just finished a fresh watch-through of these films in anticipation of No Time to Die, and I was curious on what everyone's opinion is thus far. It's kind of insane to me that Spectre came out 5 years ago already and Skyfall is almost a decade old.

  • Casino Royale - An obvious classic and a fantastic introduction to Craig's style of bond. His chemistry with Vesper Lynd was flawless. Le Chiffre was a top notch villain. It's dated a bit with some of it's tropes and dialogue in my opinion, but still an excellent Bond film.
  • Quantum of Solace - This one's aged the worst of the bunch. Bland cinematography and the editing is headache inducing, with what seems like 30 cuts a minute during action scenes. Olga Kurylenko as Camille was forgettable and Mathieu Amalric as Greene was the weakest villain in the series.
  • Skyfall - The best cinematography of the series, thanks to the spectacular Roger Deakins. Also my favorite villain with Silva, who was brillianty portrayed by Javier Bardem. Judi Dench steals the show with her final portrayal of M, and Naomi Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Ralph Fiennes were all perfect additions to the cast.
  • Spectre - Excellent cinematography in this one as well, courtesy of Hoyte Van Hoytema. This one is probably the most over the top of all the Craig bonds, but damn, it hits the mark several times as well. The Día de Muertos opening and the train fight stand out. Christoph Waltz nailed it as Blofeld, Dave Bautista as Hinx made for the perfect Bond henchmen, and Lea Seydoux as Madeleine was a worthy follow up to Vesper Lynd.

Overall, my pick would have to be Skyfall, although I think Spectre is severely underrated and is my 2nd favorite Daniel Craig Bond film. Let's vote, Era!

Their quality is in order of release.

That's right, QoS rips and it's a top 5 bond film.

I would have to rewatch them again to give a definitive answer but at the moment it would be Casino Royale with Skyfall right behind it.

I honestly can barely remember QOS or Spectre.

I love Skyfall but Casino Royale almost stands out from the entire Bond franchise without losing its identity. Everything about that movie is about as close to perfect as you can get. I don't think I have any complaints with Casino Royale.

What a film.

Their quality is in order of release.

What a fucking take. I think Solace is the only Craig Bond film I actively dislike. Spectre owns.

Eva Green as Vesper Lynd and Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre elevate Casino Royale above the others. I'm still not 100% on board with Ralph Fiennes as the new M.

Quantum of Solace and Spectre both felt like they were dragging along, which for me is the cardinal sin a Bond movie can commit.

Big Bond fan but don't really love any Craig film. Skyfall is the best of the bunch though

Skyfall for me, honestly. Casino Royale is a phenomenal film but I had so much fun with Skyfall. I was a huge Goldeneye fan as well and something about Skyfall just spoke to me.

Casino Royale was so great. Loved the setting, the music, Madds as Le Chiffre, and everything else.

I fucking love Casino Royale, but have wound up really disliking all of his other movies. After the last one, I have no intentions of seeing this next one.

Skyfall is my favorite with Casino Royale a close second. Spectre is okay, but with an amazing intro and cleverly opening tracking shot sequence.

Casino Royale, period.

I hope they get Martin Campbell back for the first film of the next Bond. Goldeneye and Casino Royale are two of the best Bond films full stop and the best of each actors set.

Skyfall and Casino Royale are excellent. Skyfall is a masterpiece in Bond terms.

Spectre is not great.

Quantum is a disaster in every way. It's only redeeming quality is that it has the shortest run time of all Bond films.

Casino Royale by a country mile.

Skyfall was fun in parts, but was a bit of a mess in retrospect. Particularly the ending:

Bond races back to save M being killed by Bardem in a murder/suicide act. He kills Bardem's character with a seemingly heroic knife throw and M dies anyway. Bardem gets what he wanted and wins. I've no problem with the bad guy winning (e.g. Infinity War) but how the whole sequence plays out doesn't work.

Casino Royale and then Skyfall for me. Casino Royale really made an impression on me as a kid and I love going back and seeing the Sony product placement from the time on rewatches. The idea of that hotel storing security footage on a BD for example is absurd, but it's cool to watch because I felt like this movie took the series from "wacky 90s gizmos" to a more realistic modern technology

Mission Impossible has been stealing all of Bond's thunder for me lately. Bond seems like such a downgrade.

Craig's Casino Royale is actually my favorite Bond movie period, so yeah, that one.

I appreciate Casino Royale's dramatic approach, but I didn't find the premise of "make Le Chiffre lose all his money so he'll come crawling to MI6 for protection" to be that great of a hook to hang the story on. And after he's defeated, the movie keeps on going for another 20 minutes. It has its moments though, so I'd rate it second-best.

Quantum of Solace's terrible action scene editing nearly gave me a headache and I won't be revisiting it, so it's definitely my least favorite.

Skyfall has a better hook, good action scenes, and I appreciate how it inverts the typical Bond ending structure. Instead of Bond invading some villain's lair, blowing it up and coming out triumphant, the villains invade Bond's lair, blow it up and he comes out with a Pyrrhic victory at best. So I suppose that's my favorite of the bunch thus far.

Casino Royale by a country mile. Skyfall had interesting emotional payoff and such but the first Craig movie is simply one of the best action flicks ever made, not just the best Bond movie ever probably. Since none of the sequels lived up to that I have little faith this is the one that will pull it off, but I'm still gonna watch it day 1 or so.

Casino Royale is a top tier Bond film and shits on the other Craig films. QoS and Spectre are both mediocre. Skyfall was good but not nearly as good as CR.

Skyfall by a significant margin.

- I think Casino Royale kind of overstays its welcome with pretty much the entire first hour being non-stop chase with no breathing room, and then the last half hour feeling like a different movie stapled on and not a great one. The middle section though, from when Vesper is introduced up until the torture scene probably is top form Bond though.

- Quantum of Solace I think is a bit underrated, actually. I think it would be a classic movie if it had a comprehensible editing style. Forester sabotaged his own movie with his signature style of rapidfire cuts. But I like that it's a more personal story with a more vulnerable, on-edge Bond and never feels boring.

- Spectre kinda blows. Stupid script and some really terrible action sets.

Personally, Casino Royale just edges out Skyfall

that list just shows, other than casino royale, Craigs bond has been pretty garbage

I quite like the first 3 Brosnan movies, but I'm not actually sure if it's because they're actually good movies or if it's because, like everyone else who likes Brosnan's first 3 movies, it's because I was 10 when I saw them.

At the very least I'm sure Goldeneye is a good movie. The World Is Not Enough is also pretty notable for being remade as a Batman movie 13 years later.

CR is the only really good movie. Skyfall was average, QoS was forgettable and Spectre just flat out sucked except for the opening scene.

I just watched them all for the first time recently - one per day over the Christmas period. Casino Royale was the clear standout for me with the rest approximately the same. I didn't hate QoS as much as the consensus, though the villain was weak. Christoph Waltz wasn't as menacing as I'd have hoped in Spectre but was still decent. I did enjoy the villain in Skyfall and how seemingly unstoppable he felt, though his personal relationship with Bond felt contrived. Overall I'd say CR >>>>>> SF >> QoS = Spectre.

Casino > Skyfall > Quantum (though it's pretty close to Skyfall imo) > Spectre

Casino is an out and out classic, and Skyfall and Quantum are both solidly good Bond films. Only Spectre is a misfire, so all in all Craig's tenure has been a lot more consistent than any of the other Bond actors (that have more than 1-2 movies).

They're all at least good, but any poll that includes Casino Royale is obviously going to end with Casino Royale winning, it's not only Craig's best Bond but arguably the best Bond period.

Casino Royale easily, Skyfall a distant second.

Spectre has its moments — that Day of the Dead opening sequence was aces — but the sum of its parts still couldn't salvage most of the film.

The less said about Quantum the better.

For me it's Skyfall, although I do have to rewatch Casino Royale to appreciate it again and give it more of a fair shot. I will admit it alienated me a bit at first and Skyfall did take the franchise back in a direction I prefer.

The first half of Skyfall is amazing but it falls apart in the second half. Casino Royale wins this one.
