Pretty sad that I have to add this disclaimer, but:

THIS THREAD IS NOT SERIOUS. I AM NOT UPSET. I EXPECT NOTHING GREATER. I FIND THE THING HILARIOUS.

So I got the usual email from them. "Hey, Transistor! It's your birthday! Enjoy 30% off a select digital title!"

Wow, thanks Nintendo! Let's see what you have!

7 3DS games and 3 Wii U games.

Wow..... Thanks..... Would a 10% off Switch games coupon kill them?

For comparison's sake, what do PlayStation and Xbox send out/offer for birthdays?

Happy birthday! (Not meant as a sarcastic comment because the game selection is old--have a happy birthday, for real!)

I'll bite, only because it's my birthday too.

Happy birthday, mate. Sorry Nintendo only cared enough to email.

It really doesn't matter what the competition is offering. The 3DS and Wii U have both reached end of life already, so discounts towards their games makes very little sense. It's free and all, but it's outdated as hell now.

You worked so hard for that birthday, and this is all they gave you? Fucking Nintendo, man.

Eh, it's not the best but it's an opportunity to play some games you may have missed. There are some real treasures there!

Hey! Pikmin is worth it! But yeah, never anything too wild, still fun to get the email and see the offer I guess. Happy birthday though!

Back in the day, all we got were stars and a choice of mainly shyte merchandise from the stars catalogue.

It still beats what Microsoft was giving to people in 2014 as an Xbox Live "Reward" on your birthday, a PDF of a paper cake.

C'mon, guys. All of you would be mad too if that shit were to happen to you.
Happens to most of us every year - expecting Birthday emails to include some big ass promotion is a weird expectation....since no one does that.

Gifting you something without gifting you us the standard for these company birthday emails.

Show off!

here in the UK they give you a "free wallpaper" which is usually just some random press kit asset resized to 1920x1080.

I swear they have some peeps at Nintendo HQ who have been working overtime since 1989 and have had no communication with the outside world since then.

I felt the same way at my birthday honestly. Might as well have been nothing.
