I had one that was about Majora's Mask and Banjo-Tooie, so it must have been pretty late in the 90s

I think that was the only one I had. I have no idea where it ended up.

I must have watched the Pokemon one dozens of times. The course of my nerdy life was forever changed when that came randomly in the mail. And I read the Nintendo Power mini-guides just as much.

I was getting these during their heyday and I watched them repeatedly. The ones I remember most vividly -

Pokemon
Star Fox 64
Diddy Kong Racing

I also remember this mailer they sent out for Goldeneye.

I got the Pokemon one, no idea how since i wasn't subscribed to Nintendo Power or anything, but man I watched that tape over and over in the summer leading up to the games' US release.

The Starfox and DK ones were my favorites. Did a parody of the Starfox one when the Wii U version came out, good times lol.

Dunno why everyone's clueless about Donkey Long Country I had that one too. The Street Fister II video guide was my fav by far.

Did anyone here get them? The one that stands out to me was Donkey Long Country.

If you did get them, do you still have them?

I have almost all of them and I burned them all onto a disk that I stored...somewhere...
PM me. I can send the file to you once I venture that deep into my closet.

That being said, there's a Toys R Us video with some early beta footage of Conker's Bad Furday when it was still just a platform about looking for stolen wedding gifts. For a while I saved those tapes because I enjoyed the nostalgia trip of 90s/early aughts video game marketing but they're also an interesting snapshot into popular N64 titles before they were finished products.

The Star Fox 64 tape was the best of the bunch!

One of my most embarrassing childhood memories is forcing my friend, who owned a Playstation, to watch this video to prove to him that the N64 was the superior console. He didn't give a shit either way because he wasn't a gigantic nerd fanboy like I was.

I had the one that featured Star Wars 64 and the Donkey Kong 64 one. I watched those things like porn.

The OP made me think these were some 90s adult entertainment knock off video tapes but luckily it's not as bad as that.

*Already posted above I am an idiot*

I had this one as a kid. Couldn't wait for that rumble pack.

I've got all of these (the Majora's Mask one doesn't ring a bell though) somewhere.

I had to have watched the N64 tape like 100x waiting for that thing to be released. I2 yr old me didn't know what preordering was so we went on release day only to find out I had to be put on a waiting list. Think I finally got my system in early Nov.

I think I still have an orange (yep, orange) VHS "hype" compilation - I got free from a Nintendo magazine, not ONM - of upcoming games for the then-soon-to-be-released Gamecube. That was actually the first time I saw the CGI trailer for Melee...which then transitioned to this incredibly super-cut twenty-or-so seconds of gameplay. Mind = blown.

Yeah, I had the Star Fox 64 tape, too. I remember watching it a few times. Actually thought about it recently.

I might have had more. I kinda remember one with Super Mario 64.

I also had the Virtua Fighter 32X tape that came with a t-shirt and (I think) a coupon, but that's Sega...
